D&D 5E 5e Halcyon Academy

"Oh no," she said. "Kobald Dragon Sorcerers are rare, but they do happen. We don't currently have any at the academy, but if you decide to go that route and awaken your dragon blood, we can help."

Grody stares up at her for a few moments, and then nods in response. "Grody, Dragon sorcerer..." He spoke almost as if in awe before moving out of the way to let others have their turns.

Squirrels are evil!

Mim looks at the woman "Is anything at this Academy safe? Should we be checking the gates for traps? What is a patron anyway..." Given that Mims voice keeps changing its hard to tell if he is joking about the traps or not.

The Academy/Woods
Late Fall/Morning
Round 0

Asherah sighed in relief as she saw the wall and the Academy come into view. The professors were there to greet them with one more trial with an enchanted dagger.

Asherah lined up with the others to present her hand to be cut.

Zivar sighs loudly, and he stands a little taller. His face brightens as it seems a huge weight is lifted from him.

Cracking a slight smile he congratulates each of his new friends as they receive their acceptance into the academy and school assignments.

I made it this far at least. Time for the hard work.

Asherah's blood vial sizzled for a moment, then calmed and turned blue, the vial itself seeming to catch fire, blue flames licking the Professor's fingers, though apparently causing no harm.

"Wow," she said. "The gods must favor you. We haven't had one like you in a long, long time."

Quentin watches as the group gives their blood. He stands there deep in thought.
"So, one older student, eh?" - he turns to Lyla - "You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"

He smiles, shaking his head as he offers his hand.
"Try not to cut swim web please."

OOC: Test roll as an explanation (you know, they're testing us) not as I'm trying to get this :)

Also, you can roll first and edit the post later once you see the result, you just cannot edit the roll. And you cannot roll again on the same post. It might save some posts.

"No she wouldn't," Raven said, walking up to the Professors. "Grandpa's gonna be pissed when he hears we lost another student to the Mouther. it looked smaller than it should be. I'm worried it divided."

She gestured back to the group, "They survived, though. I guess it should count for something."

"Thank you, Raven," Professor Haught said, gesturing to Quentin.

She held up his vial of blood, and first it turned a deep blue, then foam began to appear at the top.

"Another one," she said. "That's amazing. Not necessarily surprising in your case, given your heritage, but still."

One by one, the others came up and offered their blood to the strange vials.

She frowned at both Mezzra and Jorrick as their blood simply coagulated in the vials. "Oh dear, I'm afraid your blood isn't just not magical, but I doubt very seriously if either of you will be able to do even the simplest of spells."

To Korlin, she said, "Same as the Kenku. You have a spark, but not enough to draw from without training of some kind. A Patron could help, or wizardry. Even music can sometimes draw out that magic."

Once that was finished, she looked up.

"Alright, everyone, there's only one more thing to do, and that's tell you your assignments. Those of you who's blood reacted in the vials are automatically accepted into the School of the Arcane. For the other schools, and for the rest of you, the heads of each school have spoken." She reached in a pocket and held up a sheet of paper. "Everything you did was watched by the heads of each school. While the Mouther was not a part of the test, everything else was, including the vials of sap that were awarded to you, and the man who offered to buy them. The School of the Divine is particular about who they accept, and those who love money are not among them. If you sold it, I'm afraid you must have impressed them remarkably in order to get in.

"I will now inform you of your results."
