D&D 5E (2014) 5E Purchases

You think he is asking about only official WOTC releases. He is not. 5e has a TON of stuff published for it...really quite a lot. But most of it is third party material - some by some of the best RPG writers in the industry.

Most of the 3rd party stuff I've seen is low quality and not even worth mentioning.

Ah, I forgot about the spell cards from GF9. I did buy all of those ... unfortunately, that was quite a fiasco ordering from them and won't buy from them again, nor would I encourage anyone else to purchase them.

Fortunately, all the local FLGS have full stocks of these and some are at discount, so I have multiple spell cards for each class. Alot of players were using these at Gencon, much handier (and lighter) than carrying around 3 heavy books

Bought the books. Also bought all of the campaigns as well, although PoA I gave as a present. Haven't bought any of the official minis (as I have my own collection), and bought only a couple spell cards. And bought the starter set of course. Well, two of them actually, but one is still shrinkwrapped next to my still shrink wrapped Holmes basic set, but I digress.

How much have you used the spell cards? I'm just wondering how durable they are and how well they stand up to use.

This wasn't directed at me, but they are very durable and stand up to use very well. I do have a suggestion though. I find it easier to organize them by using those 9 card sleeve pages. You know, what we used to put baseball and football cards into as kids? I put in the spells that are in my spellbook sorted by level, and it's very easy to flip through them and find the spell you're looking for without shuffling through a deck of cards.

Good to hear and that's a nice tip for how to organize them too. I can see how these could be useful. I might take a trip to my local game store today just to see if they still have any in stock. A pack of the arcane spells might still be there, although I don't know if I'd be willing to spend 20 bucks on it.

I disagree, but I suspect there is so much you just have not seen some of the good ones and had some bad luck. A lot of good stuff out there for 5e. Fortunately we have people reviewing it so you can select the better ones.

Mmm, I forgot about those, I bought everything but Druid and Bard so far (the classes I don't play).
