They are not third party. They are also not played, and therefore not going to win any popularity contests. If you must include UA, make it within the last year. Including stuff that has been stone dead for years is ridiculous and just drags things out.

Um, actually... In the Adventurers League, Mike Mearls made a few certificates (on his own, using his home printer) allowing "winning" players at his tables to use the Mystic UA class in official AL games. When I, as RPG Director for a convention where we expected a lot of AL players, asked to see what it was supposed to look like, I was told, "We're not going to show it to you. If we did, you could make a forged copy!" My response of, "But if nobody knows what it's supposed to look like, how would anybody be able to tell a forged copy from the real thing?" went unanswered...

I play Unearthed Arcana classes all the time. I just added all three of the "Giant Options" UA to my campaign because I really like the flavor.
