Too bad it's not the Tasha's version of Beast Master, that fixed all the problems.

It includes Tasha's changes. The Beast Master subclass is from PHB, and is not in included in Tasha's. What is in Tasha's is an Alternative replacement ability for 1 subclass feature for the Beast Master. Just like the Ranger class is in the PHB with some Alternative abilities in Tasha's, the Beast Master is in the PHB with 1 replacement ability in Tasha's along with the available Beasts to choose with the new ability.
Whether you are using Tasha's changes or not are up to your group, but the Beast Master subclass is still the PHB subclass which is what is rightly included in this survivor (with or without the replacement ability as per individual group choice).
