6th level spell for sorcerer

D'door AND teleport? That is 2 spell slots for spells that do nearly the same thing. I would've passed on D'door and tried to hold on until I could get teleport. Teleport is a better spell in every way and ony one level higher.
Dimension Door has a single advantage over Teleport, in that you need not know your destination. If you're outside a sealed vault, you can Door "ten feet forward" and end up on the other side of the wall. Teleport can't do that without at least a description of the interior.

I didn't take the spell myself, but it's not that bad a choice.

Dispel Magic and Greater Dispel is not quite as bad IMHO because sometimes you DO need that many dispels and Greater Dispel does get better with level.
I don't think it's useful to take both spells, because the 3rd-level version can fit into a wand. Take GD on your spell list, and pick up a wand of DM for emergencies.

I don't like Mass Haste with your spell list. You have a limited selection of spells and you don't have enough combat spells to need to eat a 6th level slot just to get another partial action for yourself and the rest of the party. Next time you get a 3rd level spell take Haste instead. If your party wants to be Mass Hasted let them pay for a staff for you to use or perhaps help you buy some scrolls or let them buy their own potions of haste.

  1. You won't get another third level spell unless you waste a feat to learn it.
  2. A Staff is a good idea, but I don't know how easily available they are in your campaign.
  3. You have plenty of spells worthy of being cast multiple times: Fireball, Vampiric Touch, metamagicked spells.
  4. You can metamagic a spell and still move with haste
    [/list=1]

As you may be able to tell, I'm still advocating Mass Haste. Despite what Tzarevitch may say, it is worthwhile in nearly every combat situation. Sure, you can be selfish and say "I don't want to haste my party" or you can take the spell and nearly ensure victory in many fights which would otherwise be close matches.

    +4 AC
    More full attacks from fighters
    Faster healing from clerics
    More sneak attacks from rogues

Mass Haste is by far the best th level spell for someone who adventures in a group.

First of all I would like to thank you for your help agian. I can understand that he thinks that I should not have taken Dimension door and teleport, but this is a DRAGONSTAR campaign, and I do some planet travel. It is very expensive to travel with ships. I don't see why he does not like Phantasmic Killer, two saves, if he fails both he dies, simple as that. Yes what are the odds of that at higher levels, but the DC to save is 21, still pretty good if you ask me. I wish I would have not taken the repair spell, but we used to have a soulmech, now he'
s gone, so I don't have to heal nobody. Looks like Mass Haste will be the best spell to take since I don't have haste already. One more thing I would like to ask, could some of you read my Polymorph forum, it's also under the rules section. I have the feet called blood burn which let's me increase the spell casting level by taking 1d6 points of damage up to a max of my charisma modifier. right now it's a 7, since I am 13th level I could polymorph into something with 20hd, do you have any ideas?

Actually I'd take the Chain Spell feat and use that on regular haste instead of Mass Haste.

Then pick a different 6th level spell. :p

what does this feat do and in which book is it?

Tome and Blood, page 39.

It causes a spell that affects a single target (and has a range greater than touch) to arc into one additional target per caster level. All additional targets must be within 30' of the first, secondary targets take 1/2 damage (if any) and any Save DC is at -4 for the secondary targets.

It's +3 levels to the original spell, so Chained Hasted is 6th level, just like Mass Haste.

Other fun spells to Chain: Blindness/Deafness, Hold Person, Greater Magic Weapon (when cast on a single weapon), Otilukes Resilient sphere.

chan spell and haste is the way to go if a feat and a 3rd level spell are anywhere in the near future.

Chain disingrate :D I like that, that's a lot of 10' cubes disapearing if sued on inanimate objects.
