My votes:

Known (4 of 8): Arcane, Divine (connected to the Astral Sea), Martial (a.k.a. Ki/Chi), Psionic

5) Primal (connected to the Feywild - Druids, Sorcerers, Barbarians, etc.)
6) Shadow (connected to the Shadowfell - Beguilers, Illusionists, Necromancers, etc.)
7) Elemental/Energy (connected to the Elemental Chaos - Summoners, Wu Jen, etc.)
8) Taint (relating to the Far Realm - Alienists, Void Disciples, etc.)

This seems very likely, actually, if Psionics isn't from the Far Realm -- and it shouldn't be. I like the idea of Psionics as being almost 'magical martial', a purely internal power source, coming from the Unharnessed Power Of The MIND!.

If not taint, then, Incarnum. I like the core idea of incarnum, of 'the raw material of souls', but I never got into the actual rules. The concept shows up in my worlds, but no incarnum-users yet. Might fling one at the PCs, as incarnum is part of one's racial backstory...hmm...

Scribble scribble...note note...

Nah, Husband = Leader, Wife = Defender, Mother-in-Law = Controller, and Teenager = Striker. :)
Having been married for over a decade, I can honestly say a Husband ain't nowhere near being the Leader in a marriage. :)

One thing I see missing is a power source that is fueled by the character's own lifeforce. Y'know, like Raistlin and other wizards who get weaker the more they use their powers.

That's the 'good for fiction, bad for RPGs' power source.

You can always roleplay the wizard getting tired after casting an encounter spell, and even more tired after casting a daily spell.
Yes, i know the wizard getting tired "mechanically" can be more exciting, but as the other guy mentioned, there are also some problems, at least for a D&D game.

Elementalist is apparently a planned 4e class, as Races & Classes mentions them in the Dwarf entry alongside clerics, paladins, fighters, barbarians, rangers, and wizards. So Elemental seems like a very likely power source, though I suppose the Elementalist might be Primal or Arcane instead. (Arcane seems unlikely though, because they'll need something to differentiate them from Wizards.)

I can be wrong, but I'm quite sure I've read in W&M that Vecna is trying to find out Raven Queen's true name.

With that in mind, I'm quite sure it would be a power source, or at least a relevant aspect of the game.

Knowledge of a creature's true name could also just be a virtual implement that stokes a wizard's or other arcanist's powers in a way similar to a wand or orb. Perhaps knowing a true name would be a key part of a ritual.
