Hi Newbie,

What would make sense for the character?
Is he a coward?
Does your character dare not attack him because he'll get snotted?

How much of this is out of game issues between you and the other player?

If there are no external issues and your guy is a bit of a coward, then he'll make excuses, look to stand behind others and do his best to say why he's useful to the party. Hopefully, other party members will come to your defence and pull the big guy into line. If your character fails to have support, he'll skulk about tail between legs for a little while and if things don't improve, he'll leave the party hanging when they need him most.

However, from your tone, it seems that there are external issues. If so, you'll need to sought it out with the DM and the Player as Crothian suggested - a definite font of wisdom Crothian is. :)

Best Regards

Out of game there is no issue that i know, and i dont attack him because that hasnt been done in the group, our characters were brothers in slavery all the way up to us battling in the negative energy plane together full knowing i was going to die trying to save them all, but recently he has been calling me a coward for things like, not killing a surendering white dragon (still dont know what i was supposed to do but i went with my gut reaction) or calling my clan a bunch of smelly barbarians and refusing them to stay in his monestary for one night! (after the home was destroyed) ...so i dont want to make it

There is no out-of-game conflict? OK, so this is in-game and you are asking how your character should respond?

I can understand that you don't want to create infighting, but that sounds like what the other character is trying to do. Would it be in character for your PC to respond to such taunting? Would it be in character for him to ignore it? It sounds like you have a RP opportunity here. (Assuming there is no out-of-game tension.) Did the other character recently start acting this way? Is there an in-game reason? Maybe he has started to swing towards an Evil alignment? Maybe he is being possessed? Maybe he has been replaced by a dopplganger? If this is an in-game problem, find an in-game solution. Maybe there is a story brewing that you are just becoming aware of through the character's behavior?

Oh how i wish that were the case, i think he belives he can kill me in a fight so he can say what he wants. And if it were was a roleplaying stand point i would just leave and never see him again, but that doesnt make the DMs life any easier, so my question is what do i do as a player or character, should i just bite the bullet as a player, or should i roleplay and kill him or walk out and leave? (if any of you know of the anime Berserk i get alot of insperatioin from Gats im also a 13fighter/11barb) I dont know should i threatin him? should i throw it back in his face? should i just kill him? should i leave? im stuck

I'd try to reason with him in game, get the other players involved, and if he keeps doing it, get the rest of the party to also leave him with you
