A Clash of Earth and Sea (El Jefe Judging) [See Part II]

Zack nods to both Ignatius and Charlarn. After he has taken a moment to get used to his invisible body, the warrior starts circling behind the archers, not taking the closest route as he isn't that nimble and 30lb of metal strapped on doesn't make him more silent.

OoC:Move Silently -3.... Hope they aren't focusing on listening. Get into a cleave position if possible.
Scythe attack (invisible, guidance, PA2) at +8 (2d4+8, x4, slashing and piercing)

While Zack is sneaking around invisibly to get into position behind the crossbowmen, who are 400 feet away from the main party, Jack moves away from the bunker and launches a flaming arrow at it. The first shot is a little high, and clears the roof to the alarm of the gathered pirates. A second shot rapidly fires, and the oil coated rags that Jack placed there catch on fire.

Examining the blaze with a critical eye, Jack estimates it is likely to spread unless the pirates attend to it fairly quickly.

Zack is in position to attack if he wishes.

Planus and Opale are just about to cast their spells when the first flaming arrow startles the pirates.

ooc: Sorry this is taking so long! This battle is way too complicated, and I've been having trouble getting enough uninterrupted time to figure it all out.

Opale change her minds, seeing the flaming arrow, she needs to quickly disturb the pirates. She cast Glitterdust as soon as she see Zack, trying to hit as much pirates as possible without touching Zack with her spell.

Planus fires an arrow instead of casting the spell, aiming for one of the pirates non-adjacent to Zack.

OOC:
I'm not sure if Zack included the effects of Planus's bless spell. If not, that would be another +1.

I think I like Planus more for all his low rolls than his high ones. :) Apologies to his companions.

With the building beginning to burn, Jack will quickly and blindly fire his remaing fire-arrows in the general vicinity of the docks, where there are undoubedly ships and boats docked, before vanishing into the darkness...

Jack isn't aiming at anything specific... only hoping by luck to land a fire arrow at long range onto something flammable in a boat or ship. If nothing else, he's hoping the extra arrows near the ships might distract the pirates.

Charlarn of Phyrah: male human cleric 4/ranger 2

If the way isn't rough, Charlarn will run at the archers, Goruksblain held high. (80 ft move; AC 16) If he can't run, he'll make a double move towards them. (40 ft. move; AC 18)

Pirate Battle, Phase 2, Round 1
Zack attacks, becoming visible as he swings his scythe. (Normal Scythe +7 for 2d4+4, power attack 2 takes it to +5 for 2d4+8. +2 for being invisible takes it to +7 for 2d4+8. Guidance should make it +8 for 2d4+8, which is what you rolled... I guess that means we are on the same page!) He puts a great deal of power into it, but his aim is off, and the blow glances off the pirates studded leather armor.

Opale, waiting for this moment, immediately casts glitterdust amidst the pirates. The group Zack has attacked is at the dock, and is made up of 8 pirates. The six at the depot are nearby. Of the 8, Opale manages to catch 5 in the area of effect of the glitterdust.

Planus, seeing the pirates lit up by the glitterdust, lets off a shot. He hits a flat footed pirate for 4 damage.

Iggy follows Planus's lead. He hits the same pirate for 5 damage.

DC 16 v Glitterdust (1d20+1=3, 1d20+1=15, 1d20+1=2, 1d20+1=3, 1d20+1=8)

The five glittery pirates seem to be blinded. They withdraw in a variety of directions. The remaining three, as well as the 6 from the depot fire their crossbows at Zack.

Light crossbows (1d20+3=12, 1d8=1, 1d20+3=17, 1d8=4, 1d20+3=10, 1d8=6, 1d20+3=21, 1d8=5, 1d20+3=12, 1d8=4, 1d20+3=11, 1d8=2, 1d20+3=7, 1d8=5, 1d20+3=17, 1d8=6, 1d20+3=8, 1d8=8)

He is hit 3 times for a total of 15 damage. The three nearer pirates drop their light crossbows and draw their scimitars, while the other six reload.
