A clue on the Charm attack?

I don't think that the Charm keyword has a component that we are not seeing, though I wonder if someone under the effects of a Charm know they are under the effect (other than in a meta-game sense)?

(m) Charming Kiss (standard; at-will) * Charm
+14 vs. AC; on a hit, the succubus makes a secondary attack against the same target.
Secondary Attack: +12 vs. Will; the target cannot attack the succubus, and if the target is adjacent to the succubus when the succubus is targeted by a melee or a ranged attack, the target interposes itself and becomes the target of the attack instead. The effects last until the succubus or one of its allies attacks the target or until the succubus dies.

It's late, I'm sleepy, and I may misunderstand the question. However, I interpret this ability as follows:

Attack 1: The succubus grabs the victim and attempts to kiss. Success: She gets to kiss. Failure: No kiss -- no effect at all.
Attack 2: While kissing the victim, the succubus attempts to overwhelm the victim's mind. If succesfull, all of the listed effects come into play. Failure: No effect at all.

Basically, it's an ability that requires two seperate succesfull attack rolls in order to function. Somewhat similar to the 3.x Phantasmal Killer.
