A CM pep talk

First Post
We need games run. There are players posting this very topic on our fourm. We are the leaders of this community by our own choices. As leaders we should set an example. If games are run, this will slowly attract more players. With the increased number of players will come some people who also like to DM. You can see the snowball growing I hope....

I certainly do not know of EVERY game being run since some are F2F type games using our setting. It would be nice to see more online games being started up though. Campaigns are not necessary. One shot adventures are fine.

If you are not yet running any online games, please give this a thought. The success of our endeavor is upon us now. All the work and effort to this date will be lost if no one enjoys playing in our setting.

My initial goal is to see 6 games per month being run by CM's. That would require each of us to run a game every other month. If we can attract more DM's through this activity that number can grow. If someone becomes aggressive and runs a game per month it will also grow.

I am selfish in the sense that I want to see something that (more than) 13 people have worked hard to develop. This is a vey good gaming setting for the D&D system. We have something to be proud of here. So let's be proud and show it off to as many people as we can.

Hopefully I will be able to get broadband sorted out very soon (as I should get confirmation that my contract will be extended until at least next July by the end of next week) once I know I will not be moving I will get online at home and start running things.

I agree. This is what I have been preaching since the day we went public. I ran half a dozen one-shots and a campaign for 7-8 months. Sadly I had to end my campaign due to real life, something I was loathe to do. Between teaching and school, and other big committments, my time is extremely limited. I still plan on running some one-shots in the near future though.

We need more games. Even if you post a game and two people show, play. Games with only a few people are a blast. Games with more than 5 people are a headache. I've been DMing online for six years and I love the games with only a couple of people.

More games! Let the chant go on!

Yay, I make another of my rare posts. Depending on whether I get a job or not and how much free time I have with college I may be able to squeeze in an online game every other sunday evening or friday evening depending on how things go. But sadly that's about a month down the road with luck. Still, I look forward to running games once again it's been forever.

I used to run minis, one shots and arena matches all the time. Sadly, real life has kind of gotten in the way of that in recent weeks (and months). I'm trying to get out of this burnout I've been in, too, which will be nice when that happens!

I too am saddled by real life restrictions about games I can run. I work a 10-hour night shift, and my days off shift every week. This is why the campaign I was trying to run, well, ran out. Hopefully, I can get my work situation sorted out soon.

You could still do arena matches or that Dungeon of Doom thing (Northman, was that your idea?) :)

If was a dungeon, probably. :) I have a soft spot for dungeons.

Except I can't remember what it was... was it that joint dungeon we were talking about. Where every CM contributes a set of rooms... something like that?

I really don't recall :) It was a long time ago, or seems so at any rate. It could be a fun project, once we get this thing rattling along again :)

I believe the basic premise was a HUGE dungeon complex which each of the CM's would contribute towards designing.

Location and more specific information escapes me.
