A crapload of new users?

I s'pose I qualify as a lurker  .

And thinking back on some of my handful of posts, I guess the term 'crapload' might apply as well... :heh:

It's funny to see folks that have been around as long as I've been with 100X or even 1000X the number of posts I've made...

I'm curious who regularly checks in, has the earliest registration, and yet the least number of posts?

I mainly read a handful of storyhours and their associated threads, and follow whatever links catch my eye on the main news page. Unfortunately, this acts as a surrogate for actual gaming, since my group broke up several years back due to changing life circumstances. :\

Hmm. On my desktop? Some blank CD-Rs, bills, Elements of Magic (revised), a handful of zip disks, bills, some (legally) used CD-Rs, my Palm's synching cradle, bills, and some random notes scribbled for my programming habit. er, hobby.

Doh! I just added one more to my postcount!

How about, when you introduce yourself, you have to list out some of the objects that are lying on the desk near your computer monitor.

Wish I were writing on my computer then! ;)

Okay, since I don't really mind: My real name is Daniel J. Bishop, and I am one of two co-owners of Golden City Comics and a partner in iHero Entertainment (read the Featured Story this month for one of mine). I've had short stories and/or poetry published in a lot of places, mostly on the web, but also in print. Some of my work is archived at Fables, and I write a column on crime-genre comics for Shred of Evidence. Like many writers, I am working on a novel that never seems to get done. :uhoh:

Hope that helps.

What's next to my computer? A big mess of papers and books! :p

Ok, I guess I'll join the masses. I've been lurking since Eric Noah's old site, but as you can see from my post count, I haven't even hit the double digits yet!

What's on my desk? Let's see... A phone, lamp, tv remote, box of kleenex, several pens, pencils, highlighters, and markers, and a bunch of index cards with character stats on them!

Hello there. I guess I'm still pretty new, too.

Haven't posted much. Still trying to get a feel for the joint. But I'm grateful to the guys who pointed me here (g-damned, good-for noth....Oh, yeah, the DM reads here and is able to make me suffer ;p). I'm wondering where the other Maissen players are? I've only seen two.

This guy games with me ladies and gents, so please remember to treat him with all the respect you would give the walls of a public toilet. :uhoh:

Hello,

While on 3rdedition.org I got pointed to Sepulchrave's Story hour and I've been hooked on the site since.

Desk contents: two empty soda bottles, a dungeon mag, a leather belt pouch, bills, a custom bumber sticker I had made that reads "My other car is a data bus" (reminds me to finally apply it), dice, lost city of barakus and the aeg toolbox. Thanks for the invite :)

Oh yeah, what's on my desk? Hmm, lessee.... Several kleenexes, a glass of wine, the PHB, ash-tray (full), lot's of glorious smokes, a NWN manual, and copious notes taken from the Mutiny thread.

That's about it ;p.

Ooh, ooh, let me join the fray! I only recently found out about this site, but shortly after I did, I knew I had to join. It's just that cool. Well, that and it's often some of the only interaction with adults I get during the day (I'm a stay-at-home mother of a 14 month old boy). (And yes, he has his very own too-big-to-be-swallowed d20.)

I live in Minnesota, and have been playing D&D since back in the day. Heck, I met my husband through a D&D game. Currently playing in a d20 FR game, and running a PBP one in a homebrew world.

As for what's on my desk: numerous scraps of paper, a halogen light bulb, the Dragon Magazine CD-ROM archive, empty water bottles and a shot glass with a few drops of rose flavored vodka*. Oh, and a tape measure, because for some strange reason there's a tape measure on every horizontal surface in our house.

Glad to know ya all!

*strange, but tasty. My husband and I think it's what elves would drink when they want to get trashed.

Nice to meet everyone....

On my desk is:
Vitamins
Calculator
Lamp
Computer
Sweet 19'' LCD monitor
Bills (grrr)
Asprin
Dust Off
Cultural Atlas of India
A Plate (with crumbs of sourdough bread and a bit of baba ganoush)
A Mouse

eek.
