A D&D Wiki

So, over on Wikipedia, there are a lot of D&D-related articles that are (rather fairly) flagged as in-universe, or requiring cleanup, or otherwise of a scope that Wikipedia shouldn't be worrying too much about.

But it's information that could still be very useful for fans.

So, for that purpose, and to get a central repository for some D&D lore, I whipped up this just a few hours ago.

My model is the crazy awesome Final Fantasy Wikia. I look at that, and I look at the fact that I can't go to a website and search, I dunno, archon, and get a description of what "archons" have been in various D&D editions, and I think there is a niche for something like this.

I know ENWorld's folks are crazy knowledgeable on this topic, so if you could pop over there, and add as much information as you can, I and future generations would all heart you forever.

Just try to keep it on published D&D-specific info.

Thanks, yo.

Basically there were like two obsessive guys who went on a spree of trying to delete everything related to D&D, and when they couldn't delete it all outright they slapped every tag imaginable on every article they could. One of them spent a nice 6 months or so banned for e-stalking some editor and using a half dozen socks, but currently they've both moved on to other areas of pop culture to try to delete as non-notable.

Honestly, and I've said this before, sometimes the sheer amount of pop cultural information on Wikipedia does get a bit absurd. It shouldn't be completely deleted, but it probably should be trimmed a bit with Wikia having the really in-depth minutia.

Wikipedia politics are absolutely incredible(y horrible).

That said, pop culture is more or less what Wikipedia is about. Axing it doesn't really make the site better.
