Oookay. That's enough hijacking, I think. I don't want to go into too much detail about Hong's stick.

I really think Favored Souls need Domain access to fit their flavor text-- their spellcasting powers represent a closer, more personal connection to a god than a Cleric's... but their patron deity doesn't determine their spell list?

Also, I think that they should have access to Divine feats, whether by gaining a turn/rebuke ability or simply gaining the ability to power those feats in some other fashion.

All of the above. The Domain aspect is really a deal breaker to me, because of the free arcane spells a regular Cleric can gain. The turn/rebuke limits mainly the PrC options. Fine. I would reconfigure my soon-to-be-Cleric-elf as a FS, if I could trade some of the arbitrary class special abilities for arcane spells of choice.

I see it more in terms of restricting their access to Divine feats, of which Divine Might is practically a must for any melee Cleric-- and the Favored Soul seems to be essentially a slightly more melee-focused divine caster.
