A little black triangle?

Does anyone now how much an obsidian(Black right?) triangle would cost? It has 2-3 inch long edges. It's for flavour, my monk would like it because of the simplisity it symbolises, the unquestioning black, and the nigh indistructability(If you hit it on the point only mithral, magic and other like that should dent it(? ya know the wide and small pressure)and if it hits the floor pointy bit that goes in) so what do you say?

Otherwise, it would be the norm for surgeons to use obsidian scalpels

Actually, they do, especially in certain types of very delicate eye surgery.

As far as cost, it would probably be fairly expensive, but not overly so.
Obsidian is a gemstone in D&D, but only worth 10gp. This assumes a small amount im sure. 100-200gp would probably be on par with the proper cost. Its really up to the DM, but it shouldn't be too cheap, but its hardly expensive for a adventurer.
