"Let's get to it then. Time is running." Tarukka goes out to investigate the basement door.
"But given this level of security, I'm guessing we will find normal basement with vertical stone chimney - with no openings - going deeper." tiefling offers 'optimistically'.

Investigating the basement door reveals a simple weathered wooden door down a flight on stone stairs. A swift kick from Thren splinters the wood and renders the pad lock that secured it useless. The basement is pitch black, to the surprise of no one, and the light carried in by the party reveals an open area held up by symmetrically placed support pillars, as predicted by Tarukka. Boxes of varying sizes are piled in random locations throughout the basement. Opening a few crates reveals various supplies from nails to linens. A collection of boxes piled to the ceiling against the wall draws your attention. Moving the boxes reveal a wall that has clearly been knocked down and re-patched. As you approach to investigate further, the crash of a box behind you reveals a specter attempting to sneak up on you. It laughs manically and charges at the party, it's spectral hand swiping at Tarukka.

OOC: [roll0] [roll1] If it hits make a DC 10 Con save or have hp max reduced by amount of damage dealt.

Jamestown Colony/Manor House
Morning
Round 0

Arjhan eyed the undead in the room. Definitely undead. He gripped his greatclub tighter as Ramas spoke. But they would not battle at this time, apparently.

Arjhan followed the others as they looked around the rest of the manor, finding a trap door beneath a rug in the corner of the kitchen. The slab proved heavy, however, so they went around outside the house to a basement entrance.

As they investigated and found the patched up wall behind the boxes, one of the specters from upstairs appeared, slashing at Thren.

“To arms!” Arjhan called, getting ready his greatclub.

Tarukka growls and lashes out at the thing that attacked him gritting his teeth against the pain. Despite the pain, the swing is right on target, driven more by instinct than intellect. The blade, already vibrating with magic power, bites into the incorporeal being leaving the vibration behind.

Ramas backs away from what ever it is attempting to put as much between him and this spirit as possible, Ramas was no coward, simply smart. Using his time tested technique Ramas hurls a gout of fire.

Thren almost squeaked when the spectre appeared, but his instincts kicked in and he attacked without thinking.

In retrospect it may have been worth spending a moment thinking about it, his surprise obviously affecting his abilities.
