A Paid Trip to Spellhold [D&D 4e]

Before the weather turns nasty, Kaedyn removes his armor and shield and secures them in his berthing area. Keeping a sword, battle axe and dagger with him might prove useful, but that's all of his equipment he will need on deck.

As the weather begins to worsen, he shouts to be heard of the rising wind, "Everyone better use a rope and tie it around yourself as a safety line. You there! Don't tie it around your neck you idiot! Around your waist man." He lashes his safety line on the quarterdeck to be able to lend his strength to the helmsman.

<<OOC: No problem, just tell me what skills to roll if it isn't obvious.>>

Upon hearing the storm intensify, Asterion climbs to the top deck and looks out.

"I was never much of a sailor. That's why they kept me in the forge. I'll do my best to keep an eye on the men, though. We shall beat this storm. I promise you."

Taran takes off his hide armor and follows Kaydin instructions tieing a rope around his waist. "Well, I've never been in a storm on ship before but I'll do my best to be of help" Says Taran denoting his tireness in his voice

"Let me stock my equipment in Kumar's cabin and I'll be on the deck to help in a moment." tells Cliff, before going back into the Captain's cabin, removing his heavy plate who could sink him into the water.

Chizz sets out coils of rope around the edges of the deck, securely tied to cleats and railings and handy for quick throwing. He ties brightly colored fishing floats to the other ends, so that any unlucky souls who end up in the water are more likely to find them.

Thievery 22 to tie good knots and stow the ropes properly so they won't be in the way, but will uncoil quickly if needed. I'd like to use this roll as an "assist" to anyone needing to make a roll to rescue someone later, if it doesn't count as a success in its own right.

Never having been at sea during a storm, Lochlan does his best to stay out of the way, tying himself to a 25' rope anchored at L8, giving him run of the mid-deck.

The winds start to blow stronger, as the storm approaches. The sailors prepare for a couple of tough hours, at best.
As the last preparation is finished, a lightning bolt hits the water next to the ship! Then hurricane winds blow the ship, from one side, then from the other. It's hard to even remain in the same place! Water hits like sharp freezing needles.
Then, a wave, a huge wave, hits the ship...
