I've been wanting to try out Gamma World 12e, but it fails to reflect the challenges of the real post-apocalyptic era.

Heh -- if they ever DO create a Gamma World that pleases all its fans again, I really WILL start preparing for the End of Days. :D

Did they finally nerf the elemental as a player character race this time? It was so broken in 5.0 and then made worse with 5.75.

They did something really wonky with this. The elemental as a separate racial option is gone, but now you can apply the "Elemental" template to any other PC race. I'm not sure about this. I see where it would fix some of the problems, but create others. I'll have to see it in play.

And I can say right now that I'm house ruling that a genasi character can't take the opposing Elemental template. No Fire Elemental Water Genasi in my game!

I was so very dissapointed with 4.3E Forgotten Realms. Elminster as a Prestige Class indeed... Then then they do and keep it for another 12 edition updates. Please tell me this is fixed for 6E.

In any event, how is the 6E update to the Book of Erotic Fantasy? Did they fix the premature fumble rules?

Not really. As I mentioned, Elminster is now an Eberron chracter. They simply gave all the prestige class levels to a Warforged Ninja.

No, unfortunately. Guess we'll have to wait for 6.25E to see if it's fixed. Personally, I disagree with their decision to make the BoEF part of the core rules, but that's only because they rarely come into play in my game. But I know that DM's like Piratecat, with his "Passions of Daybreak" campaign, probably appreciates the integration of these rules with the core mechanic. I remember how frustrated he got over how to determine Attacks of Opportunity...

Are optional rules still being distributed in randomized booster packs? Last time I bought a case of 5.75E rules, I got 5 skill chapters but not one single AoO rare! :\

They are, but WotC is promising a better distribution this time. They're also printing more cards this time around, which hopefully will make more available in the general public and keep those secondary market prices down.

I, for one, will be glad. I always hate going to my FOGS (Friendly Online Gaming Store) and see the chatrooms clogged with kids trying to sell off their "first edition holofoil Using Manyshot with Rapidshot" cards.

What I want to know is if they've included the a calculator for weapon proficiency penalties for using a heavy medium longsword with extra wide grip, when I have larger than average hands, with thicker fingers.

The calculator is built into the character sheet now, which is another nice addition. True, it sometimes takes upwards of two minutes to process all the modifers, but it's not like that is going to slow down combat much more, right?

Out of curiosity, in your example, you say that the longsword in question is a Medium Size, but is that Small Medium, Medium Medium, or Large Medium? Remember that a Heavy Small Medium longsword is equivalent to a normal Medium Medium longsword, or even a Light Large Medium longsword.
