A Sojourn in Sairundan [Judge: Manzanita]

OOC: And I was waiting because I was last in initiative order. Since he said battle time was appropriate I figured me posting something first that ends up being the last thing said wouldn't make much sense...

OOC: so Lasair's delaying. Where does the information about particular enmity between Sairundani and orcs come from? Which of the characters knows this?

(OOC: No, Lasair is not delaying--not yet anyway (she probably will eventually). You can talk any time in any round, not just on your action.

@Sairundani/Orc Enmity, I don't know where--I had that info percolating in the back of my head, and I know that I've not read any of the Sairundan info here in threads or on the Wiki, so I assumed some half-remembered mention of it earlier in the adventure. Was I wrong?)

OOC: well, Kurgahz appears not to be in a hurry to speak, so we do need a Lasair action at some point. I don't know if you're wrong about the orc thing. I asked in case I was forgetting something that Conuld had been told.

Blinking the sand away to make sure he was seeing things right, Kurgahz decides to try and calm down the obviously jittery newcomer before things become ...troublesome.
[sblock=Orcish]"Greetings. You're welcome to share this shelter till the storm is passed. But if you start trouble, we will be the ones to finish it."[/sblock]

OOC: Yes, it was mentioned by Shadya. But refusing someone shelter during a storm is just rude, and Shadya's trying to get past it, hence Kurgaz in the party :)

OOC: I can't remember, but I thought she mentioned to Kurgaz that things might be rough after the war.

OOC: On a side note, I'm going to be moving this weekend so I'll probably not be posting Saturday or Sunday. Might not have internet for a few days after that from home, but I'll be able to post from work M-F without problem.

OOC: Sorry about the wait. Crazy week.

The person reaches behind him and puts on a shield. He also draws his weapon. While he does so, he shouts, in Orc, "
Fool! They can't be trusted, these Sairundan scum! Don't listen to their lies
!"

Shouldering his greatclub, Kurgahz makes ready just in case before speaking again with the newcomer in Orcish. "
Maybe that is the way of it with many of them, but not with this one. She's been a fair companion so far this long journey. And you should know better than to lump them all together in one group and accuse them of being bad. Just like most humans only see our Orcish side and assume we're all idiotic rampaging desecrators while the Orcs see us all as weak and tainted by our human side. So I'd rather not fight and let you stay here safely till the storm blows over then let you walk away. Because these folk have put up with me without complaint or lecture so far, and if you wanna attack us you're gonna go through me first. Just like if they realize what you are and wanted to attack, I'd put myself between you and them to try to stop them.
"
Kurgahz finishes speaking with a toothy snarl.

Speaking to his companions without turning away from the other half-orc, Kurgahz says "Just give us a sec, he doesn't trust us and might attack. If he does, I want him by myself until me or him falls. I'm trying to calm him down though. We'll know real quick if it works or not."
