A Sojourn in Sairundan [Judge: Manzanita]

Kurgahz, M Half-Orc Cleric 2 (AC: 16, HP: 18/18, Spells left: Cause Fear & Grease)

OOC: So, Kurgahz can either try to climb out of the pit from here, or move towards the back where it's sandy and walk out, but he moves at...what? Half speed over the rocky terrain? Or less than that? Here is his Initiative (1d20+0=10).

Conuld shakes his head to clear away the double vision, and it's a perilously long moment before he reacts.

OOC: Initiative 1d20+6=7 (yay! Yes, what a good time I picked to un-NPC him). He'll try to keep the pit between himself and the monster, and go for a hit with Scorching Ray. If she's not in range after first movement, he'll cast Cat's Grace and try the following round. Then it's over to crossbow plinking.

OOC: Sorry about starting the init thing. Been in the habit of doing it myself for the other games I'm in and jumped the gun here. Just been awhile since we were in a fight I guess. I'm fine with Rae rolling our inits also for future reference.

Cursing a red streak, Kurgahz is furious that he is cut off from his weapon above, still strapped to the side of the camel. 'Only good thing here is that the stinky thing didn't fall in here on top of me.' Kurgahz thinks to himself. Looking at the possible exits which all lead him further away from his weapon, the half-orc decides to try climbing up out of the pit...Climb check (1d20-4=-1) ...but his armor is just to bulky and he can't even get started up the wall before him.

11:45:00, not a cloud in sight, very hot.
Round 1
Initiative:

Cludge <-
Shadya
Lasair
Kurgahz
Conuld
Creature

Cludge moves to take the point.

Shadya's camels see nothing wrong with the scene before them, so they stubbornly stay put. Shadya gives them a good shove and they slowly move away from the 'oasis'. The desert native draws her weapons.

Shadya racks her brain for information about this creature. You all do. But though you have certainly heard of creatures with humanoid torsos and quadruped bodies, you can't recall any details about this kind.

Lasair manifests ego whip. The creature squints and twitches, but stands resilient under her attack. A sweaty sheen appears across its large forehead and it continues to grin, defiantly. (Made save, 1 Cha damage)

Kurgahz starts clambering up the sides of the pit, but makes not progress.

Conuld stays put and shouts some arcane words. He points at the creature and a line of fire bursts from his outstretched hand. The fire completely misses (natural 1) the creature and heats the air well above its head.

I'll wait for everybody before the creature's turn.

*Lasair looks at the attacking creature with some consternation then sighs and manifests a blast to the beast's ego.*

(OOC: Ego Whip--just as before, DC 16 Will save or stunned and 1d4 Charisma damage. On successful save, half damage min 1)
