Acolyte of the Ego

First Post
Probably somebody else asked this before (I can't imagine being the first thinking about this), but I could not find anything:

Just re-read Tome of Magic and took a look at the Acolyte of the Ego PrC.
All the class-abilities of this PrC depend on the character uttering his own truename, which is a skill-check with the truespeak skill vs. DC 15+(2*HD)+2. The first thing strange, I feel ist the way it is written (why not DC 17 + (2*HD)), but that is not important. Important is, that, while my abilities depends on a skill that I am able to improve by 5% per level may look good, but the DC I have to beat increases by 10% per level. In this way, it does not become easier for me to use my abilities but harder and finally impossible. Am I overlooking something here? (And don't tell me, that I am overlooking the +4 bonus, because it is the truename of the character, or that I could take some skill-improving feat)
Please help me understand.
