Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

In the UK the 2024 PHB is #1 in roleplaying and war games and 512 in books (#2 is the Minecraft Sticker Adventure). By contrast the Daggerheart Core Set is not doing so well and "Usually dispatched within 4 to 5 weeks" (also out of stock in the UK Critical Role store)
I suspect that its ranking is being suppressed by lack of supply…
The Amazon rankings are based upon sales made; if the demand can't be met, it can't reflect the demand, only the supply.

So Darrington has to play chicken with overstocking.

We saw this kind of dip when the 2014 phb went out of stock.

The interesting thing to me is that it’s in stock at flgs but not Amazon? I wonder what is going on there?

I was about to say I wouldn't be surprised if Darrington prioritized FLGS...but Amazon is Crktical Role's vital business partner, ao provavly not?

Might be that FLGS demand is more manageable than online, or maybe Amazon is getting the Errata printing soon?

There were several boxes in my FLGS as of Thursday.

When I first went looking for Daggerheart back in July at my FLGS, they told me they were expecting a restock in October, so I suspect the stock that's hitting FLGSes now has been long allocated to them, which Darrington probably followed through for the ones that are part of their "Darrington Press Guild" stores rather than moving some of the allocation to Amazon (or any other mass market retailer).

I'm sure, for better or worse, that Amazon'll get the same printing, they just might need or want a larger allocation of it before they push it through to availability.

Having a cartoon on Prime doesn't mean you're automatically prioritizing them as a book distributor. They're probably using it for some countries hard to reach through more dependent channels, but Amazon has shown that they take preorders and then deliver new orders before fulfilling those. Which also mean that people rather ask other stores to order it for them.

Well, they also host their streaming shows, so Amazon is pretty central to their business overall.

Beacon is Vimeo. Youtube is Google. Sure, Twitch is Amazon but considering how twitchy it is many people are using the other two. (For Age of Umbra, Youtube had far more live viewers than twitch.)

Amazon is on backorder again.
I assume this has already been mentioned, but I feel like it's probably the cards and the plastic molding in the Core Set that are making that more difficult than usual to produce quickly enough to keep up with demand. By including the cards and whatnot, that's probably complicating production over the book alone.
