I think they picked a heavy hitter like Tennat exactly because he was going to die early. You can get some big name recognition for a little cheaper if they have a smaller part.

Tennant has shown he isn't sniffy about supporting roles. He played a droid across several The Clone Wars episodes.

Sam Riegel worked on DuckTales with David Tennant, I'm sure that's where their conversation started.

The first two episodes were always planned to be a pre-stream story with General Krieg. It was only when the Kickstarter exploded that they added the Briarwood episodes.

I imagine they could be saving Friedel and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn for the second season of the show so the two of them can play their actual PCs from the game (depending on what arc of the game they are using for season two).

As far as Wheaton is concerned... I don't think he does much VO work. Or maybe he just couldn't do it or they didn't ask him? No idea on that one.

One thing I did notice in the video was that one of the characters is called a 'half-giant' (despite looking like a goliath) so it makes me wonder if perhaps they couldn't (or chose not to) use any D&D-isms in their story and instead it's more genericized fantasy? Which also makes me think that for those who were curious, we might not see Joe Manganiello as Arkhan The Cruel in season two... since that character appeared in the ending Vecna arc and they most likely wouldn't (or couldn't) be able to use Vecna in the show. So they would instead choose a different story arc instead.

His IMDB has a good bit of VO, and I know he narrates a good number of audiobooks, too.
