You say to start at 3rd level, but how do you want multiclassed characters to handle this? IMHO, in a 2nd edition game it's easier to give a starting XP number, since the classes aren't meant to be balanced.

Put one a 3 and one at 1or both at two. Im not sure that works math wise. I have not had to many pc's mutli class in the past so I might have miss figuared.

My main point here is that in 2e, the classes are not balanced, as they're meant to be in 3e.


For example, a Wizard is more powerful than a Thief. That's why a Thief can advance in levels a lot faster.

If you say to start at 3rd level, and I want to play an Elf Fighter/Mage/Thief, than I'd be stuck as a 1st level character, which is the same as I'd be if we were going to start at 1st level.

If you say something like "Every character starts with 6000 XP," then the FMT is a level 2/1/2 character, while a single classed Wizard is level 3 (and a Thief might be level 4, I'm not sure offhand).

A good point. *DM blushes*; again I don't get muilt class PCs very often. (Yet I've had two players chose Gnomes.) give me till Tomow eveing or wedays at the lates- Passover is tonight; and Illl be bussy, but Ill work it out when I get back.

Im soory for the delay I was wating to here back from a procspactive Player but they have not resaponded.

Start out with 5750 ex for now. I'm still recuteing players, at the moamnt but the sooner you get your PC concerpet to me the better.
