Nyar whispers, "Right, well this is feeling more like a trap than ever. The door behind us locks, we are in a locked basement owned by some drug cartel. We've been placed... again... in a situation where the authorities would be at liberty to arrest us."

"So!" Still whispering, he looks back and forth between his comrades, "Do we break down the door and keep going or walk out of here right now?"

[sblock=opinions] Neurotic, johnmeier1, drothgery everyone okay with going forward? [/sblock]

I'm beginning to hate cities again. mutters Baern but then he looks straight into Nyar eyes. But if we don't get to the bottom of this, I won't be able to sleep at night.

OOC: Don't you need training in thievery to open locks? I have a decent dex, but no training.

"I think we use our usual, subtle, bash down the door approach my earthy friend."

OOC: Thievery checks may or may not require the skill be trained at the DM's discretion. If someone wants to attempt it, they can go ahead and do so, even if they do not have the skill trained.

Cairn looks the lock over, mist coming out of his joints. In somewhat clearer voice he indicates

"This is fairly simple lock. Someone with little more dexterity could easily open it."

Thievery aid another (1d20+4=20) - too bad, maybe I could open it myself :D +2 to next thievery

Nyar leans down in front of the door, storing the wand at his belt. He opens his left fingers between the index finger and thumb allowing a beam of light to shine up at the lock. His right hand first three fingers pinch together and a three inch metal pin appears (prestidigitation). Focusing, he addresses the lock and tries to quietly trick the inner tumbler. After a moment, he shakes his hand and the pin disappears.

[sblock=thievery] 1d20+6+2 → [9,6,2] = (17) Roll Lookup [/sblock]
