Advanced Player's Guide Cover and Wallpaper

Adequate, but nothing special.

Claudo's art is not bad, but he's unfortunately not up to WotC standards at this point.

The design for the piece (two red dragons, mist, caves) is really good, but the execution falls a bit flat, and both the PCs and dragons look very 2D and "clip-arty" for lack of a better term. This style is wonderful for counters (I own Claudio's Greek counter set, which I really dig), but it's just not that good when it comes to cover art and color monster illustrations, sadly.

Glad you like the Greek counters.

But don't judge the execution based on an image this downsized.

Oh, I'm still getting the book, don't worry there. ;)

Just keep pushing forward on the technique -- the intensely frustrating thing is that you're so close (and you're there in terms of image layout - your Bluespawn Godslayer pic was way better in terms of basic design than the actual MM4 one) to professional Wotc-level images, but not QUITE there. Get there! :)

I was wondering how they were going to handle the whole redefining the term clause in the GSL. We get savage warriors, nature priests, martial artists, etc. Not the best of terms, but I would have done the same thing. The cover is nice, but I wish there was more color to the whole thing. That's a minor gripe though as I can't want to pick this up. 300 new powers is pretty insane...

There's actually a reason I chose those specific--and, I'll be the first to admit, pretty generic--names, when I could've come up with slightly more flavorful alternatives. I actually explain why I went generic in the introduction to the Classes chapter. :)

The irony here is that with the new GSL Necro will likely be going 4E (yeah I know, again). Glad to see it is getting released tho Ari, I'll make sure to grab a copy.
