Adventuers Valt Q&A

I dunno. Do we actually have the RAW yet? Cause I don't.

YES WE DO...
Eladran Soldier
Benefit: You gain prof with all spears and a +2 feat bonus to damage rolls with longswords and all spears.

In any case, your point seems irrelevant. If one feat giving proficiency with every superior weapon would be "not broken", why is it specifically the RAW in the core books that you need a different proficiency for every superior weapon? .
would a feat that grants 1 Wizard cantrip at will with a pre req of the multi class wiz feat be broken??? I guess by your standards it is, since it wasn't in the PHB I

You'd have thought they'd have put in some kind of "get 10 superior weapon proficiencies this way!" stuff.
Wow, they did... It is what we are talking about. two diffrent feats that give ALL of a type of prof...

You claim it is broken...ok lets say I am a Eladrin Wizard who takes the feat, and walks around with a Great spear would that be a large power boost?

What if my Dwarven Wizard weilded a Great Maul?

ok now 3 quastions about each

1) is it fun?
2) is it cool?
3) is it a large power jump from
An eladrin mage who takes Expand Spell book?
or a Dwarf wizard who takes Astral fire?

Any chance we could keep this thread about the Adventurer's Vault?

To the OP: I'd love to hear what the alternative pact weapons do, as well as what you think the coolest epic levels item(s) is(are). Thanks!

And if the OP is still around, besides thanking hijm for the info, I'd like to ask if we know anything of spiked gauntlets (if they exist, what their stats are, and what kind of weapon group they are in...)

Pact Hammer: Functions as an Implement for Dwarves with the usual no Prof clause, and you get to do Curse damage against creatures you hit with the weapon.

Pact Sword: Functions as an Implement for Eladrin with the usual no Prof clause, and you get a Teleportation power, that lets you hit a Cursed enemy and move them (Daily)

According to my copy they are +2 1d6 Unarmed Off-hand

I like Cailte's copy better... :)

Unarmed group, though, makes me sad. I don't have the PHB with me, but if I recall correctly, there's no powers that go well with unarmed. We'd been discussing making gauntlets count as hammers... I can see them matching well with all the "dizzying stunning and blinding" nature of hammer powers. Opinions on the matter, or is it too much of an OT?

Glad about the 1d6 damage though!

It deals extra thunder damage any time you charge. The extra critical damage dice are also increased from d6's to d12's on a charge.

Very cool! Thanks!

I'm currently playing a Warforged Juggernaut that's visually based on Marvel Comics' Thor when he was in the Destroyer armor so this works perfectly for me. Excellent...
