OOC: Intent of rope/safety line was more for 'retrieval' of whoever goes out, and/or the boy if we get to him than for ascent/descent of crater wall. I figured we might get TO him but then need to fight (or become incapacitated by the stone), and the others could pull him back in.

Elkrysn's pointed ears perk up at this comment, his nausea becoming less apparent. "Raining down magical death on anything that might be a threat? Sounds like fun." It might be the nearby taint, but Elkrysn's grin seems more twisted than normal.

A more serious look then slowly begins forming on his face, his grin weakening. "I would hate to harm a mere child, but if he - or anyone else - turns on us from this taint, I will not hesitate to make that person my prime target."

OOC: The taint seemed to be perception based, meaning Elkrysn will likely be the least affected with his perception of -1. On the other hand, he's not about to run down into the middle of an ambush waiting to happen. I agree that someone strong should go in, just so it will be easier for them to get out.

OOC: As far as light goes, someone is carrying my sunrod- I think Torqua had it initially since we have so many two-handed weapons in use.

"It's funny you should say that, but I do have a bit of minor flying magic." Torqua says, holding the sun rod. "It's doesn't last too long, 10 seconds at best, but me, and someone else if they wanted, could fly about a good 40 feet with it. If you could lower me down in the pit, I could then grab the boy and fly out."

"This setup just screams ambush," Lhavarr says. He looks around the crater, especiall the ceiling for any threats, then for other exits. "The rock is behind the taint of this place," he says, clucking his tongue as if to get a dirty taste from his mouth. "If there is trouble, I'll need to be nearby. I'm coming down too. Maybe flight should be saved to get the boy out."

The lip is difficult terrain going up and down; an Athletics check (DC varies) can be made as part of a move action to make this normal movement.

Big rocks give cover; smaller rubble is difficult terrain. Green blobs are the pustules; walking through them is possible. Water is not difficult terrain but it costs 1 extra square of movement to enter/leave it. The lighter stone near the boy/rock looks to be somewhat unsteady.

Red glow is the shard; green cross is the boy. Forgot to put dog on map but he is nearby.[/sblock]
