Good luck adventurers! Harkon Lukas calls out to the retreating party. You can hear him chuckling as you head down the stairs and exit the inn.
The party quickly makes their way out of the town and west to Daglan. The afternoon is eerily calm and cool. As you make your way over the hilly terrain of Kartakass you hear nothing, not even the sound of birds; only the beating of your own heart as you head as quick as possible to the new domain.
As you clear a low rise, your eyes are locked in fascination at the land ahead of you. A long, low valley, covered in cultivated areas of farmland, stretches off into the distance. At the heart of this pastoral scene is a small village with a white wall around it. While this might normally be a peaceful and happy place, it is far from that now. High overhead, the clouds whirl about forming a great spiral in the dark grey sky. Strokes of lightning dance back and forth releasing tremendous crashes of thunder that echo about the land. While no rain seems to be falling anywhere in the valley, the air is thick with a foul humidity that seems to carry with it a vast and overpowering evil.
Mustering their courage the party steps over into this new land. They travel for a couple dozen yards when a familiar voice pierces through the air. Thieves! it shouts, glancing around you are unable to see the speaker, though it seems to come from the clouds. Pick pockets who murdered me and stole my crown! Have you come to return it? shouts the voice of Radaga.
You may have taken my life away, but Ravenloft has given me power in return! I have closed the borders, you are trapped within my lands! Come to the church in the village of Homlock you see before you and give me back my crown. If you do what I ask your death may be less painful! You have one hour!
With that a great shadow passes over you, but again you cannot find its source. Turning around you find to your horror that a ring of goblyns 20 creatures deep has blocked the way to Kartakass. They make no movement to advance but they jeer at the party, clanging their bloody weapons against their shields and showing off their giant fangs. It seems like you are trapped in the domain of Daglan.
