Adventure: A Tale of Two Domains (DM:Luinnar, Judge:renau1g)

[sblock= Init 33, tactics]
>Initiative 1d20+13 including warlord bonus= 33; roll Roll Lookup . Well, I hope I didn't just waste a crit for initiative.

>Agreed on clearing the weaker foes ASAP. Brenn will try to Rapid Shot the group on his side, if Dorn or someone can take the group on the left. Will post shortly. Also, with all the furniture/DT around, do people want Brenn to use Safe Passage (+2 speed and ignore DT for the encounter/ CBu5 should get most of us)?

[sblock=Safe Passage]
I say go for it - among other things, that would allow Dorn to use lightning shift to get an attack on all four skeles on the left this turn
[/sblock]

Brenn did not hesitate to see what the enemy was planning. With a shout, he called upon the primal power of wind and storm to speed whatever movement he and his allies might make. Then he twitched a pair of arrows from his quiver and fired at the nearest skeletons. The first arrow struck cleanly, dropping its target- but the second slammed into the wall instead. With a muttered curse, Brenn stepped back away from the looming dracolich.

[sblock= OOC]
>Minor: Use Safe Passage (CBu5, Daily Utility 2); Brenn and allies in burst get +2 power bonus to speed and ignore difficult terrain for the encounter. This gets everybody.
>Standard: Rapid shot RBA at skeletons 5 and 8; 1d20+17+1-2= 32, 18 (hit/kill skeleton 8, miss skeleton 5); rolls Roll Lookup
>Move: to Y 40

Astonishingly, Quagmire is caught off guard by this totally unexpected attack. He stands agape, a long string of drool running from his mouth.

[sblock=ooc]initiative 12, sigh. I'd thank IC for getting that natural 1 out of the way now, but I know perfectly well there are more where that came from.
[/sblock]

Dorn's feet feel lighter than ever as Brenn's primal wind carries him. He quickly transforms into a ball of lightning, blasting through four of the skeletons with ungodly speed. When he re-appears a short distance away, only one of the skeletons has fallen. (Move to V25. Standard - Spark form - shift 11 squares, attacking skele 3,2,1,4 in that order and ending in square X22. Only skele 1 is hit/killed (ungh).)

Dorn waves his daggers in a criss-cross motion, and a chaotic barrier forms around him (Minor - chaotic defense - roll of 1 means Dorn gets 8 tmp hp. Glad I got that lousy turn out of the way, sheesh...)

Sir Exsixten hums a cheery tune as he walks up to the Dracolich. He poses dramatically and is about to say something when suddenly the wrenching, piercing sounds of rusty gears grinding against each other from somewhere inside him nearly deafens everyone on the battlefield.

As they reel about clutching their ears, two of the Goblyns end up stumbling closer to Sir Exsixten while Radaga shrieks and falls off her Dracolich.

Sir Exsixten just stares in wonder and bangs his shield against his chest repeatedly until the noise stops. He blinks a few times, then says HIYA? and knocks a tiny piece off the dracolich with his axe.

OOC: Sir Exsixten is tank. My tank is fight!

Summary:
♦Sir Exsixten is in Q29, at 5+88/88hp. He has +2 speed and ignores difficult terrain until the of the encounter, enemies starting their turns adjacent take 1d12+3(+2 THP, +2 bloodied) damage. He has Combat Challenge readied. He will only use Guardian's Charge if it's Radaga or the Dracolich making the melee attack.

*Damage: 1d12+3+2(THP)=14 damage.

GM: Recently I looked up the mount forced movement rules for another thread and when a character is mounted and subject to forced movement they can either go with the mount or fall off. Radaga will always move with the Dracolich, so she can't be targeted by come and get it I believe :)

You turn to see Jax eviscerating a nearby Goblyn while Brenn and Andras fill another full or arrows. With urging from Quagmire Dorn shots a bolt of arcane energy at a nearby figure, toppling it to the ground. You raise your axe and slice into its mummy like skin. With a shriek it crumbles into dust.

Jax is overwhelmed by deja vu as he eviscerates one of the goblyns that Sir Exsixten just drew in.

[sblock=Jax actions / stats]We didn't get an extended rest, right?

Move: Walk to O27.

Standard: Sly Lunge vs Goblyn 1 hits AC 27 for 28 cold damage, not applying sneak attack to this one. The goblyn gains 5 vulnerability to cold damage. (1d20+19+3=27;1d4+17+2+2=22;1d6=6). This bloodies the goblyn and triggers:
Free: Press the Advantage vs Goblyn 1 crits on an 18 for 64 cold damage. M-M-M-MONSTER KILL! (1d20+19+3=40; [2d4+13+2+2+5+3d8+4]=58; crit: 3d6=6)

EDIT: crap, I was counting the rain of steel damage in the goblyn's bloodied figure. I need to retcon this a bit.
Since I can determine if sneak attack damage applies after rolling the attack's damage, I would have used it on Sly Lunge to trigger bloodied, not on Press the Advantage. That would make for 22 sly lunge + 15 sneak attack + 36 on the PtA crit. Still enough to kill it, if you'll allow the shifting around of sneak attack.

OOC: Dug up the Rules Compendium:

"Forced Movement: If the riders is pulled, pushed, or slid and the mount isn't, the rider can have the two of them move together. Otherwise, the rider is dismounted and falls prone in the destination space of the forced movement."

I think this would fall into the "otherwise" category since the mount can't move into the space. However, the mount and rider are considered to occupy the same space (she's not above it, she's "in" it), so Sir Ex couldn't pull anyway. She takes no falling and is still on it.
