After years of DMing, I’m trying to systematize my adventure design process.
I’ve created two “crutches” to aid myself.
I’d like to share them and, more importantly, get feedback on streamlining and improving them.
Adventure Design Crutch
Encounter Design Crutch
We use Monte Cook’s Iron Heroes, so you will find some references that are specific to that system. Ignore them.
Some immediate thoughts of mine include:
1) The Adventure Design Crutch is not a step-by-step thing. I find I skip around.
2) The Adventure Design Crutch is a good tool, but it is ponderous. I was hoping the final result would be a little more streamlined. (I usually get about 4 hours to design each adventure.)
Thanks in advance.
