[Adventure]Curious & Curiouser (Judge: Stonegod)

Orsik helps with gathering the dead, his great size and strength helping as he carries two at a time and stabilizing the pile as it grows.

He focuses on the traditions of these strange people that survived a holocaust of the Silver Flame. He continues to learn as they travel, listening to stories and asking questions of their life and customs.

OOC: cannot see Orsik doing anything else, I would like to take personal training, even now that I saw the benefit, but Get to Know the Hunters is my choice.

Muzdum sits on his ass, and concentrates on being the big fat oaf he is, all day long. He drinks, jokes, nothing productive really.

OOC: Choosing Rest

OOC: As one might expect, Rikka will choose "Scouting for the party". Since I have RP available to spend, would now be an appropriate and/or acceptable time to level up?

OOC: [MENTION=6672544]jsb420[/MENTION] May I officially level up Braddock to level 6 now?

Braddock notices the trepidation with which the shifters watch the Defenders. Motivated by more than a sense of good deeds, Braddock instructs the hunting party traveling with them.

"Oye, you over there. Let me tell ye some thing that will save yer damn life. When Muzdum 'yeah the fat smelly dwarf, don't let him hear ye call him that' when he starts to grip up on the haft of his ax, he's about to charge, stay the hell out of his way.

You, stay close to the tall one. Let me show you some runes. When it looks like this (he draws a symbol in the ground), strike as the enemy is vulnerable.

As for the elves, don't worry about the cat, she moves too fast to watch. As for the other... which of you brought drink?"

He continues to talk tactics with the shifters for the upcoming struggles.

Quan intimates to the tribe that he would be interested in any mind altering substances they might have on hand. After experimenting, he finds the one that is the most pleasant and mentally floats away into ecstasy. On the trail, he keeps dipping into his stash.

[sblock=Personal Training]Woot, more action points![/sblock]

He continues to learn as they travel, listening to stories and asking questions of their life and customs. (Get to Know Hunters – Hunters gain an extra action when commanded by Orsik)

Rikka ranges ahead of the group looking for anything out of the ordinary (Scouting for the Party – Rikka gains ONE additional move action (as an Immediate Reaction) during the next encounter)

You continue your journey, into the deeper, darker parts of the King’s Forest. An unexplainable sense of foreboding creeps upon each member of the party, even the shifter hunters glance about nervously. Signs of the usual forest creatures have long since disappeared miles ago, even the sounds of insects have vanished, plunging this part of the forest into silence. This is a Dead Place.

The oft used game trail you have been following begins to widen, leading to a forest clearing ringed with tall shadow-topped trees. Sunlight drifts down, but its usual radiance seems somewhat dimmed. Near the center of this grove stands an ancient oak tree, but all of its foliage – vibrantly green on all the other trees – are sickly brown and massive patches of lichen cover its flank. Nothing else can be seen. The leader of the hunters announces that this is the Taboo Grove.

[sblock=Controlling the Shifter Hunters]During this encounter, you will be able to use your extra actions (thus losing that action that round) to direct the movements of the shifter hunters. Each round, the hunters will have ONE Standard action. This can be converted to a move action or be used as a melee basic attack. You can spend your character’s extra actions to give the hunter additional actions as listed below. To be able to direct the shifter hunter’s actions, you MUST be within 2 squares of the hunter your character wishes to control.

(your) Minor Action -> (hunter’s) Move Action (shift, run or move) OR Minor Action (Longtooth Shifting power)

(your) Move Action -> (hunter’s) Move Action (shift, run or move)

(your) Standard Action -> (hunter’s) Move Action (shift, run or move) AND Minor Action (Longtooth Shifting power)

*NOTE: Shifter Hunters are considered allies and as such, they can flank with the characters or other shifters. They can also be healed and they are able to use any effects that can effect a PC (i.e. Orsik’s Rune of Mending, etc).

**NOTE: Getting to Know the Hunters: Grants Orsik the ability to give two commands to the shifter hunter he is directing (i.e. initial Standard Action and either a MOVE or MINOR - without needing to spend Orsik's action). The targeted shifter hunter cannot make two attacks during the same given round.[/sblock]

"This place gives me the creeps! Brullbrrr!" announces Muzdum before shaking vigorously. "Alright, where's the thing we have to kill?" he says, taking his axe from his back, and gripping it with both hands. "I could use some killin' 'Right Now' "

Muzdum seems ready to be Muzdum.

Braddock, hammer in one hand and rod in the other, holds his hands out.

"Something this powerful should give off a fairly potent aura."

He tries to feel the ebb and flow of magical energy in the grove.
