Kasha frowns with a certain amount of suspicion at the unfamiliar cuisine. In different circumstances she might be excited to try something new, but she has little desire to sample the local specialities of somewhere as muddy and creepy as Souragne or Sojourn or whatever this place is called. "I'll have the red beans and rice," she says after a moment; at least she knows what all those words mean, and it sounds harmless enough.

"Say, who's the glowy fella in the corner? Doesn't look much like a local."

The glowy fella in the corner chuckles, "No, no I am not a local. Which is a pity, as the fine folks of this village are a little reluctant to speak of their troubles to an outsider like myself." He stands up and extends his hand in greeting, "My name is Andras. Might I ask what brings you to this place?"

[sblock=mechanics]Andras is a skirmishing archer warlord. Not a lot of attack granting, but he does give significant bonuses to damage and maneuverability.[/sblock]

Kasha takes Andras's hand in a firm grip. "Kasha," she murmurs as he names himself.

"We just came here to deliver a package, but now it turns out that the village priest is probably trying to turn everyone into zombies," she says matter-of-factly. "And we told some crazy lady that we'd find her daughter for her. Plus this weird kid has been following us -" she gestures back at Luc - "and we met some gypsies who started babbling something about dead men walking - they were bang on with that one - and told us we were gonna drown in madmen's blood or somesuch. So, hey, if it's local troubles you're looking for, I guess we've got plenty to go around."

[sblock=OOC]Welcome THB!

Damage bonuses look super awesome, and I love Skirmishing Presence. Also Race the Arrow is an awesome encounter power from Kasha's POV - her daily can be used on a charge, I can see some awesome setups with that combination.[/sblock]

Jax squeezes his way between Ingot and Kasha so he can see the "glowy" fellow. Alarmed, the kobold draws back from Andras as if anticipating some hazard.

"Ahh! Are you on fire? That looks like it hurts!" He then cautiously sticks a hand forward to the genasi. "But you're not too hot... Oh, sorry! I'm Jax. I'm with Kasha and the others, yes? It's just as she said. We're just relaxing a little before the big zombie hunt."

[sblock=ooc]Welcome to the group THB!

I'll echo Antithetist and say that I like Andras's powers. Jax is built for bursty damage, so that +4 damage adds up quickly. (Attack + AP attack + Minor Attack + Free Attack, so that's +16 damage if all goes well).[/sblock]

Seeing the strangers busy talking the innkeeper wander off to fetch their food. Their warm welcome to the Genasi gets mutters from the locals however, who gives the party and Andras unwelcoming looks.

[sblock=ooc]Welcome to the group!

More damage for the group, my monsters are quaking in their boots/graves! ;)

The genasi's eyes widen as Kasha recites her list, "Wow. There certainly is a lot more going on here than one might expect." Andras frowns slightly, "You know, I'm pretty handy with a bow. If you think you could use the help, I'd be happy to tag along."

Soon the innkeeper comes back, plates stacked with food. Crawfish Etouffee, Shrimp Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, and Chicken Gumbo, each large dish smelling delicious in its own right. There is enough there to fill everyone's stomach, and even enough to feed another person at the table.

"Mmm... meat." mumbles Jax before he takes a serving of chicken.

After Andras makes his offer, Jax looks at each of his present companions in turn. He makes up his mind after a few moments of gauging their strengths. "It's okay with me. We don't have compensation for you quite yet. We were already promised money for the delivery. Maybe the zombies will have some gold on them? Oh, and a share of the prize when we find the missing girl." The kobold nods, apparently agreeing with his own suggestion.

"Glad to have you aboard!"

"Yeah, sure, why not," Kasha agrees, sniffing at her red beans and then tentatively licking at a forkful with a speculative air. Apparently they pass muster, and she starts eating in earnest. "'slong as Ram Tiger thinks you smell okay, you're all right by me. Wanna join us for dinner? There's plenty."

She looks around and notices the dirty looks the group are getting from most of the locals. "Hey!" she calls out, voice raised for the whole inn to hear. "What's wrong with you people, never seen a... one of these guys... before? Huh?! Mind your own damn business." Putting her fork down, she glares around fiercely, daring any of the patrons to meet her eye.

I vote that once we've finished feeding, if Kasha hasn't inspired the villagers to form an angry mob, we head to the Plantation to ask around about Fiora's daughter.
