[sblock=ooc]I'm gathering that he jumped over the side. If he was still up here, we should be able to pinpoint his location even if he's holding still (assuming we beat his stealth checks, which it seems like since we heard him moving).[/sblock]

Shava stays low and tries to listen to whats going on at the lower bridge.

[sblock=Scorpious]You can clearly hear and see what is happening below. You also see Tamarand grab somthing out of the gnome's pouch and tuck it into his own.[/sblock]

Roswyn sighs and lets her orb drop into her sleeve. She stalks directly over towards the approaching guard captain.

"What in Khyber is going on?" she demands before he can say anything. "Your buddy tells us you want to see us, then he leads us straight into an ambush! An ambush set by a warforged disguised as you! Just what are you involved with?"

The guard brushes away the townsfolk and says to them, "Thanks for coming and getting me, this is a matter for the guard now. Scram." The guard shoots them a look and the people move away into houses and shops, quietly whispering to each other.

"I don't know what you're talkin' about! I just got off shift! What buddy! I never said I wanted to see you anyway." Whispering, he says, "Our arrangement was I'd find you. Goods fencing for adventures, that's all I do, I swear. Maybe you got enemies you don't know about? Did they target anybody in particular?"

Tondrek distractedly points Rohna in the direction he heard footsteps. Sneaky gnome go that way then stop.

He was more focused on the vines, however. He mumbled to himself as he tried his best to save the 'forged Fey vines... not here.. gnome fey once ... maybe they get... illusion too... poison when dead... maybe antidote... don't die bad now-forgey...

Tondrek's ministrations are great, but not enough. It seems these creatures are the perfect assassins.

[sblock=Arcana 20]You know that those birthed or living around strong planar influences might develop traits native to that plane. The kobolds that raised from the dead, and these warforged could from that phenomena.[/sblock]

The fiery outline of the goliath's hammer becomes solid again as the fire is extinguished. With a shake of her head, Mitra starts moving down the 50ft in front of her rocky friend and herself toward the others feeling along as she goes. "That invisibility doesn't last long right Roswyn? He's either hiding among the bodies or jumped over the side."

Mitra can't find any trace of the gnome, she concludes that he must have jumped off the bridge.

-''Well, they didn't target me in particular, that's for sure! I spent nearly the whole fight rooted in the same spot and rifling ligntning bolt as if I were one of those gnomish blasting tower. I barely got a scratch.''

"Good, good, we can rule out theft as a motivator. Say where is that dark skinned elf friend of yours?" The guard scratches his chin. A narrow scar goes right down the middle and a whisper of a beard adorns his cheeks.

OOC: Passive Arcana good for Tondrek.

Tondrek sniffs, but could do nothing else for the now-forged. As he stands, he says, No here but there or near there that be plane touched likely these be from I think. Feyish planish.

He blinks a moment when he sees the now real-guards around a moment, then ignores them once again to paw over to where Doggies inert remains rest. He removes the bolts from him, then lovingly begins some repairs. After a few minutes, he has put everything back where it should. The flaming trash pile, who has been staying next to Tondrek, finally collapses just as Tondrek finished. And, just as quickly, Doggie comes back to its feet, good as know.

OOC: Use Arcane Empowerment to restore use of Onyx Dog and restart Doggie, spending an HS as always. Also spend one to heal.

Tondrek: 43/53 7/10(13) AP: 1--

Rohna cracks her neck to the side as she joins the rest of the group speaking to the real cityguard. She flexes her shoulders and the red crystal parts of her skin flare brighter as her wounds close and she wipes the blood from the corner of her mouth. "These buggers had some really lasting illusions of you and others." She nudges the inert construct with her black plated boot in emphasis. "How do they get things like that?"

Roswyn stares at the guard, seemingly lost in thought.

[sblock=ooc]We've already had one fake guard captain... why not two?

Insight studying guard. (1d20+7=15) Bah, not better than passive.

Anyone with decent perception want to try to detect a disguise?

If it's an illusion disguise, could we try Detect Magic to tell? Just in case...

Arcana (Detect Magic) (1d20+12=22) Again, not great. Would detect an effect up to 4th level only.

Are there other guards with this guy, or is he alone?[/sblock]
She turns and addresses Tondrek.

[sblock=Goblin]Tondrek, dear, this man isn't another feyish planish forgey under another jokey fake-looking spell, is he? Could you take a look?

Oh and it's good to see Doggie back again!
[/sblock]
[sblock=short rest]Are we taking one now or have we taken one?[/sblock]
