Yes, scouting please.

Mal - sorry to see you leave. Hopefully you can rejoin is with a PC more to your liking. I wasn't overwhelmed by the invokers either during my brief game that I played here with one.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Duh....Montroya has been fun, but I've given him a primal flair.[/sblock]

Tamarand creeps down the hallway ahead of the others. He peers around a corner and sees the focus in the energies of Dolurrh. This area seems to be a crypt of sorts. In narrow shelves that line the walls lie the bodies of the dead. The drow's keen darkvision comes in handy as he can make out sets of dead. Further down a hallway crosses perpendicular to this one.

[sblock=ooc]Having a writer's block here. The bodies are lying on their backs on narrow shelves. The shelves are 3', 6', and 9' off the ground. The shelves are built into the walls so they impede movement. If I have time before work, I'll work up a map. If not, I'll do it at work and send it to THB, r1, or SG and maybe he can post it.[/sblock]

Shava rolls her eyes at Tammarands antics and leans against the wall, waiting for him to return from scouting. How unnecessary. A complete waste of talent and arcane energies. She couldn't help being a little jealous. She watches Brenron go, but stays alert.

"What a time for a crisis of faith? I hope everyone is ready. I certainly have never fought a dragon in such close confines before." Shava did not give off the impression of being nervous. In fact she was excited, but she hid it well behind her ship demeanor. And of course. . . Dragon means a horde. . .

When Brenron points out the kobold, Tondrek begins to babble. Its quick and incoherent, but snippets such as ArcaneNexusGenerallyFollow and ElenamentalEnergiesAndPointyTeeth and then PaperRagSayGatorMaybeDragon?. He's far too excited and afraid by half.

OOC: Arcana 27 to try to get a good feeling for what type of dragon it might be by our clues.

Rohna also leans on a wall while waiting for their scout to return. Sifting through the ramblings of the others about the dragon they may encounter she rolls her eyes. "With all the blackscale lizardmen and the acid breathing priests I'd say black dragon if there even is one down here anywhere."

OOC - Do thp last through short rests?

Tamarand returns to the group, "Uh, where'd Brenron go? I think we could use the holyman right about now, there's some bodies up ahead, not sure what they'd be doing down here?" the drow reports, doing his best to describe the area to the others.

No, THP's go away after short rest [/sblock]

"Bodies?" Roswyn wrinkles her nose. "You're right, Tamarand, Brenron picked a terrible time to leave us."

[sblock=ooc]Anyone have any bright ideas on how to proceed? I don't. :(

Also, Roswyn is definitely thinking black, or at least acid breathing, she bought a potion of acid resistance for that very reason...[/sblock]

Indeed the dragon as suspected is a black sort. Tondrek knows the scale melded to the kobold was attached through a magical ritual, and had to come from the dragon that would be bonded to that kobold. Also from the scale the three arcane magic users can determine that the dragon is a young one, but still enough to pose a threat, no bigger than a warhorse.

[sblock=ooc]Plan? Any questions on the map?[/sblock]
