Rohna moves up, to 10ft shy of the first cubbies and calls Mitra back to her with another wave of her unhelmeted head back to her side. The onyx stone beads in her cornrowed red hair softly clink against her armor for a few seconds afterward, while the crimson and yellow flames stream endlessly up from the sillouette of her now well used warhammer without any smoke. The goliath watches again in obvious amusement as Tamarand goes loping down the hall in the mock sneaky way he seems to like to do. After a few moments though she stops watching their brave little "scout/test hobbit" and focuses on listening and watching for anything else that be moving in this bunkhouse for the long and not so long dead.

"Phew, well I'm glad that's all sorted out. So shall I keep moving ahead?" Tamarand asks, moving next to Rohna, then moving forward without waiting for an answer. The drow arm grazes the edge of a cubby, where Mitra was, knocking a bone onto the floor with a loud thud.

Roswyn still looks at the crypt nervously. "Um, when we pass through there, I'd rather not be all alone at the back..."

Shava slows so she's in step with Roswyn, before following. Wincing at Tamarand's attempt at stealth.

Tamarand steps out into the cross passage and rays of flame, as big around as a human wrist erupt from near the ceiling and angle down towards the drow. The drow twists and one just scorches his shoulder, the other though takes him full in the side, burning a hole in his armor and blistering the flesh beneath.

[sblock=ooc]rays vs Tamarand reflex (1d20+12=28, 2d6+6=8)fiery ray vs Tamarand ref (1d20+12=22, 2d6+6=15)[/sblock]

Further down the passage way a hobgoblin corpse rolls off the shelf to it's feet. It's flesh is blue-grey and ice crystals cling in it's hair. A chill mist surrounds it and it locks eyes with the drow. Behind the drow, a skeleton steps off, blocking the route to the drow. It also looks goblinoid, but it has four arms, each holding a deadly scimitar. The sound of another corpse hitting the floor comes from the one of the side passages.

[sblock=R1]The ceiling in the side passages are 10' high. 30' down on each side a flaming skull hovers near the ceiling, this is where the rays of fire came from. Furthermore on the right side passage a mummy has appeared.[/sblock]

Fiery rays erupt towards the drow again. This time the drow is able to dodge one, but the other burns another hole into his flesh, this one more painful than the last.

[sblock=ooc]1 miss, 1 hit for 17.
2 more fiery rays vs Tamarand ref (1d20+12=15, 2d6+6=15, 1d20+12=27, 2d6+6=17)[/sblock]

On the brink of unconsciousness the drow looks on in horror as his cockiness comes back to bite him. The hobgoblin zombie charges forward and swings a meaty fist at the drow. The creature is still unstable on it's legs and the swing doesn't come close. The drow can clearly feel the unnatural chill of the undead, he knows he is about to get real cold.

[sblock=ooc]Z vs Tamarand AC (1d20+11=12, 1d6+4=10)Got lucky on this one. Tamarand will take 5 cold damage at the start of his next turn from the aura.[/sblock]

Not to be thwarted a bandage wrapped hand reaches around the corner from the others, slamming the drow in the ribs. The sorcerer collapses in a heap, lying awkwardly with he leg bent beneath him.

[sblock=ooc]
M vs Tamarand (1d20+11=26, 2d8+3=9)you contract mummy rot.Those within 5 sq of M take a -2 to attack rolls against M. Sorry R1. :([/sblock]

Seeing the drow go down, the four armed skeleton turns it's attention to Rohna. The creature steps forward, it's blades a wall of steel as it slashes at the goliath. The first two strikes are deflected by the goliath's sheild and warhammer. There is just too many blades though, and the final two carve into her shoulders.

[sblock=ooc]
S vs Rohna AC (1d20+13=16, 1d8+4=7, 1d20+13=14, 1d8+4=9, 1d20+13=24, 1d8+4=5, 1d20+13=29, 1d8+4=10)After DR: 13 damage.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Baddies a get surprise round. Tamarand gets struck by fiery rays, and the dead move off their shelves. Then they come up again in init, so they get to act normally.[/sblock]

How far away are the rays coming from? If they're more than 5, I'll use the Storm Soul interrupt to gain +4 ref (The one ray hit Ref 22 so if I get +1 defense against it +4 = Ref 23)

Oh...I see that you rolled a 1 for init? Good thing I'm keeping up with my super sucky rolls on IC

[sblock=R1]Yup your luck continues. All wouldn't have been bad except for they beat you in init too, denying you a chance to get away. Seeing as how you are more than 5 sq away from Tondrek, SG has some decisions to make.

No Storm Soul. The 22 was during the surprise round. No immediate actions during the surprise round.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Next update should be coming tonight if I can get everybody.[/sblock]

Tondrek, distracted by the marking on the walls, barely had time to blink before all the chaos break's loose. Heeeeyy!

Seeing Scary Dark Man fall, Tondrek holds his staff in a circular pattern, building up winds in a greenish light as he does so. Slamming the staff to the ground, it leaps to where Tamarand has fallen, shoving aside the zombie with its gust. Ducking forward, trying to keep back from the sting of the goblinoid swordsman, Tondrek then rolls over one of his infusion with explodes on contact with the drow, restoring some health. He then swings his staff at the undead, but the blow is low and likely easily blocked.[sblock=Actions]Gale-Force Infusion centered on T: Ref 28 vs. Z, Ref 13 vs M (if there are others w/in 2 squares of T, they are attacked to), 11 damage and shoved 2 squares (that should move Z out of aura range). Round 1 Combat Actions:

Rohna is thrown off balance by the brutal barrage of blades, missing with her own counter. Her skin becomes steely once again in anticipation of many more attacks in the next round. "Everyone target this thing and then fall back around the corner. Stay out of range of those arcane blaster types for a bit." Her voice has a metallic cadence to it as her ferrous flesh seems to include her vocal cords for the time being.

Crack the Shell[/sblock]OOC - Is this your way of telling us that we just went too far in the sewers, throwing a lvl 5 party up against a lvl8 and 10 brute with support troops? That is the most broken "at-will" attack I've ever seen - 4 attacks as a standard action usable every round. It should have to be recharged before it can be used again, or only be usable once per combat like all of our powers.

And Mitra is a valid target for melee and ranged attacks. She has no AC and no hp but resist all 11 and is immune to magic. I don't see why a mindless undead would just ignore her. If Mitra is dealt 12 dmg by a single attack she vanishes and Rohna takes 7 dmg.

[sblock=ooc]Miss. Nope just wanted to kick up the difficulty a bit. Brute=high hp and damage, relatively low attack bonus and low defenses. The skeleton just went after who was closest, which was you.[/sblock]

The mummy's wrapping blow in the wind, but it doesn't seem to bother it.

Ducking forward, trying to keep back from the sting of the goblinoid swordsman. He has some luck as he ducks one swipe of a scimitar, but the hilt of a second slams him in the jaw. Tondrek then rolls over one of his infusion with explodes on contact with the drow, restoring some health. The drow's eyes flutter open, and clearly angry. Tondrek then swings his staff at the undead, but the blow is low and easily blocked by the four-armed montrosity.
