[sblock=Cabana]Yes that's fine. The question is, did you stay in the room to the left, or did you move on to the room to the right?[/sblock]

As Elec-Squall moves around the northern wall, Euphie mirrors him to the South. When Euphie begins to disable the eye to the far east of the room, Elec peers into the next room and moves in. As the wizard steps into the the eye closest to him opens up (P3).

Much to the groups relief the light's don't go out. Instead, above the eye, strange text appears. Edward, quite intrigued, moves closer into the room as well.

To Connect the Lands" he says apparently translating. Below the phrase, just above the top of the eye, three words appear as well. Edward points to each individually. "Mabar. Thelanis. Baator."

As soon as Euphie confirms that the last eye is disabled he reaches into his pack and quickly lights a sunrod. The group is again releaved to see the lights stay on. On the far eastern wall, is another phrase in a strange text. While the words above the eye, glow softly as if enchanted, these words are carved into the stone.

"All Four Must Be Known for Safe Passage."

[sblock=Euphie]The text is giant, and Edward translates correctly.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Skill rolls are encouraged.
The text is along the wall at O3 (Mabar), P3 (Thelanis) and Q3 (Baator)

Sparks dance off storm-cloud grey skin, while white hot, electric blue bolts tango across flexed fingers and over Elec-Squall's forearm, The fourth... he mutters, deep in thought.

Euphie looks over the writing and nods. "That's right." She thinks about what is says. "Mabar. Thelanis. Baator. and a fourth?"

[sblock=Arcana 10]: Mabar is a land of darkness and evil devoted to the Mockery. Thelanis, is another title for the Feywild, where the Eladrin come from. Baator, is the realm of the Devils, in Syberis.[/sblock]

[sblock=Arcana 15]: Both Thelanis and Baator are associated with travel. Realm features include the river styx and mystical feylines.[/sblock]

[sblock=Arcana 20]: The Cyclopses are sometimes said to have originated in the Feywild. Fomorians share many features with their giantkin.[/sblock]

[sblock=History 15]Something about this rings familiar in your minds eye. An etching perhaps, you came across in your studies? A dungeoneers viewpoint might be helpful.[/sblock]

OOC: Quick Clarification.

The 1st room was 12x12 squares and contained 9 eyes. They were all open until touched by bright light. Then they closed and produced darkness.

The 2nd room is 10x10 and contains 4 eyes. When Elec-squall entered I stated that one eye opened, which would indicate that they started closed. This is false. When you entered the room they were all open. When Elec entered the closest eye produced the text as described, but it did not open. It was already open. Lets say it flashed with energy so you know that it helped produce the text.

Cairns knowledge of history and arcane arts is limited at best. He offers small insights into earths workings by his unique perspective, aiding others more knowledgeable then he.

Dungeoneering (1d20+3=11)

Otherwise, he continues his search until both rooms are searched.
