[Adventure] Dusk and Her Embrace (Judge: THB)

Tana, gnome female swordmage 4

"Erm... I'm with Deimos on this one." Tana says. "As long as the fortifications we've put up hold, we're much better off waiting for dawn to destroy the artifact, even if I doubt we will get any sleep."

"I agree that dawn would be optimal time, but we may not have time to wait. If they breach our defenses or those big ones decide they need to break the door they will. And we will be out of time.

At least prepare everything so you don't need to wait another second when Burning Eye comes out. If they come we will do our best to keep them away from you.

Tell me what you need.

Ghourra, Brondin, could you bring some stuff we can create makeshift barricades around the altar?"

OOC: horticulture, what would Deimos need for the ritual? And what would happen if a zombie reaches the shard? Please roll knowledge checks for me as appropriate.

OOC: Please roll any for Tana as well; it looks like she's the only one in the party with the Ritual Caster feat.

GM: Previously, the group came to realize that if they reconsecrated the altar they would be able to plead to Onatar to destroy the shard (it will require a skill challenge to consecrate the altar and destroy it).

OOC: If I understand things correctly, the zombies won't go into a frenzy until the artifact is actually destroyed (if it's destroyed at night). So could we re-consecrate the altar 'now', then wait for dawn?

GM: Reconsecrating the altar and destroying the shard is combined into one skill challenge.

Let me think on it for a little bit. Maybe I'll break the skill challenge up into two mini-challenges.

OOC: You could spit the skill challenge into two scenes. It would count as a single challenge for total successes and failures, milestones, etc. This way we would consecrate the altar at the first scene, and the second would be handled when we decide to actually destroy the crystal.
