"Let him run. He is not our concern. We should make sure no one came from the other side and snatched away our employer."

If combat is over...

Sirrah returns to the edge of the cliff.

OOC: As a general rule, unless his is told of thinks or a reason not to (something I will mention at the time, and almost never while I am raging), Sirrah will kill any monster he reduces to 0 rather than knock it unconscious. Bandits 3 and 4 are dead.

OOC: How far could he possibly be, he moved up the hill (difficult terrain) and down the other side (likely difficult terrain) he can't be that familiar with the land as this is essentially rarely traveled roads. He's what, 15 feet ahead of Jayce when he gets to the top of the hill?

OOC: On the other side of the hill I'm guessing the terrain is not difficult. Besides its full of traps and we have no rouge-like character

Heading to the top of the hill, Jayce finds himself tripping over a wire.

OOC: He's not far, but the bandits set up a system to prevent anyone from following. By the time the PCs make it through there, he will be long gone off into the woods. It's possible to track him, but not to see him or catch up to him, at least not right away.

The group find 3 tanglefoot bags, 3 smokesticks, 3 bows, arrows, 3 handaxes, some gold (I'll figure out total later on), and some leather armor on the dead bandits.

"The smokesticks and tanglefoot bags will be useful in the future." Hilkalas states "It is impressive how simple devices can change the tides of battle." He pockets one of each for himself, and also grabs a bow and arrows.
"Healer, tend to the wounded." he says in his usual imperative tone.

Jayce is obviously not pleased about the bandit getting away, but he will not abandon his agreement to see Jasper to his destination to track the bandit down.

He picks up his hand axe, replacing it at his belt and takes a longbow with arrows before walking down the slope to rejoin the path.

"There's a lesson there. Keep your eyes open, mates."

OOC: Ready to go!

"A lesson for the rest of you of course. I foresaw the attack and was already placing our employer out of harm's way even before the bandits got a chance to knock an arrow on their bows." the prideful marshal offers. "But its good that you recognize your weaknesses, it will let you work on perfecting them."

Tana makes a cursory check to see if any of the bandits' equipment was enchanted; even distracted, she knows the arcane arts quite well.

"It seems unlikely these were deliberately set upon us, but archers on terrain like this does not play to any of our strengths." She said.
OOC: Arcana check:
