Adventure: Food of the Gods (DM: ryryguy, Judge: renau1g)

[sblock=ooc]Yes, the warhammer is exactly what I wanted, thanks! The lack of greed is Papolstaanas's, not mine ;)

I kind of like this weird treasure system we have in 4e. Papolstaanas gets to wander around appearing to be completely indifferent to loot while it just sort of falls on his head.

Edit: I've also been ignoring the money, since I assume it'll get divided up properly once we figure out how much each person's items are worth.[/sblock]

As the others pile up the loot, Papolstaanas notices the hammer, which nobody else seems much interested in.

"Doesn't anybody want this?" he asks. He looks around. The answer seems to be "no." "I mean, I don't know how useful it would be as a weapon, but it's sort of beautiful, the carving. It seems a shame to just sell it or something." Papolstaanas tries to pick the hammer up; expecting it to be extremely heavy--it appears to be made of stone, after all--he gives it such a mighty heave that he ends up swinging it high above his head and falling over backwards. He hits the ground with a heavy thump, arms still stretched out to grasp the hammer.

[sblock=path]I guess we should continue on to Fulcrum, maybe follow this up tomorrow. We want to see Castofle as soon as possible.[/sblock]

Jynxx laughs when he sees his kobold friend overswing, "It appears you have a fine weapon indeed friend. Lighter than you expected?" Jynxx reaches down and helps Pap up. "Perhaps you can practice the swings as we travel. I would just as soon reach the town, we have an certain issue to care for regarding a lich and cooking."

Azryah makes note of her discovery, but agrees that now is not the time to follow up. "I agree that we need to get back to town. As much as I would dearly like to know where those men came from, now is not the time to chase that particular hare. We're none of us in shape to deal with it. Still, it's good to know this path is here. We may still be able to do something about it in the morning."

She smiles inwardly at the kobold swinging around the hammer. She'd never before met a kobold she would have called amusing, cute, or any other "nice" descriptor, but she found her affection for this one growing all the time.

"Unfortunately, I do not know how to fix the bridge. I'm sure Merkari would appreciate it if I tried, but I think that too should wait for morning. In this light we may not even be able to properly assess the full damage."

"Thanks," Papolstaanas mumbles, looking horribly embarrassed as Jynxx helps him up.

"I-I suppose not," says Papolstaanas nervously. He looks around, half expecting a few officious-looking officials with complicated headdresses to step out of the jungle and present him with documents in a language he can't read saying that he's responsible for the damage to the bridge, and he imagines himself trying to explain that even though he was on the part of the bridge that collapsed when it collapsed, that doesn't mean that he collapsed the bridge, and isn't he rather small for a bridge to collapse under his weight? But the officials don't seem very convinced, so it's fortunate that there don't seem to be any actual officials around; nevertheless it might be a good idea to get out of the area, just in case...

"Chaku, would you mind carrying the findings please? I'm sure you would not even notice the extra weight." Jynxx turns to his sister, and pulls her along down the road, "Come, staying any longer can only bring trouble as I am sure they did not keep their intentions this night a secret from their kindred. Pray come."

Jynxx begins walking down the road, glancing back to see if the others are coming with him. "Krassus! Come!"

Bah, the man is no dog! As much as he owes us, he is still a man. Chaku sighs and stares a minute at the water before heading in to bring Krassus and the mule across. While on the far side, he takes a minute to toss the dead or unconcious into the river, letting the current and any additional pointy fish deal with them. He does the same with the bodies on the near shore after helping the tag-alongs rejoin their protectors.

Making sure the mule is balanced, the goliath ties the suit of scale mail to the mule, checking for any rubs, pointed edges, or ways it could slip out. Satisfied, he hands the lead back to Krassus, and motions for Jynxx to lead on down the road to Fulcrum.

Bah, the man is no dog! As much as he owes us, he is still a man. .

Jynxx pauses momentarily, unsure of what Chaku means. "What do you mean the man is no dog? And what do you mean he owes us? For saving his life? Dear Chaku, he does not owe us anything more than remembering who we are. If you were in danger and I did not know you, I would come to your aid. It is that very trait that makes the hero stand out from the villain." Jynxx looks over at the man leading the donkey, [sblock=telepathy, Chaku] "I do not have any love for the man however. For he seems to be somewhat cursed with luck." [/sblock]

Jynxx pulls off his plumed hat and wipes his forehead with the back of his hand. "Besides my giant friend, if he owes us for his life being saved... than surely I owe all of you the same. Would Krassus and I be looked down upon for needing aid?"

[sblock=ooc]

I get what your saying... It did sound like he was calling a dog lol. Jynxx hasn't quite figured out the "real world" yet. He's the son of a noble... and is use to being able to call servants in such a way. Set him straight![/sblock]
