(Adventure) Immortality Awakens (Knight Otu Judging) Part II

"Well, now ye've got the blood of a messanger on yer hands who's only crime I know of is offendin' the lady. Seems rather harsh," Cade says, looking up at Anton. "Hope yer happy."

The halfling sighs, and hops back on his mount, "I'm gonna make sure Sykhia's all right. If'n tha rest of ya wanna come, that's fine. If not, that's fine too."

With that, he heads off, if anyone follows he'll let them keep pace. If not, he'll catch up to the carrage.

(OOC: Ah, okay--you said someone else might restrain you and you were waiting for an apology, but since you were shooting twice, you must not have been readying an action--so this was a delay. So the messenger took his next action and then you got to go immediately ;))
ooc: Are you saying that someone who intended to stop me (read: Cade) could have, or that he couldn't have? Eight minutes certainly doesn't give anyone a chance to catch you before you post.

"Was that his only crime?" Anton shakes his head. "We have been pulled by the neck by deceptions since we set foot in that cursed town."

(OOC: Technically, only Tandi and Scun could have stopped him due to having initiative in between Anton and the messenger)

*Cade heads off after the carriage. If no one stops him, he has Alton run hard and catches up to it.*

(OOC: Bront, you can post interaction if you like, unless someone wants to come along, in which case you can't catch up)

"Do you even know he was involved? And is death a fitting punishment?" Cade says, as he preps Alton's saddles.

OOC: I'll wait a bit to let anyone follow me.

[sblock=RA]Cade's on his last straw. He's more interested in this point in turning around and recruiting a more capable and compatable crew to help the girl, if he wasn't sure time is of the essance, but he's begining to think more and more that perhaps with this party's failure to work togeather, continuing on would be pure suicide.[/sblock]

Tandi nodded, this time to Thurgan, his calmness speaking to her as her old trainers would have. Her heartrate slowed, the adrenalin slowly leaving her as she relaxed. You let your anger control you. I know, I wasn't going to kill him. You know the consequences. I do. She barely noticed the whizzing of arrows after Anton had defended her honor, but putting the two actions together she realized what had happened. Looking past Thurgan, she saw the messenger's body lying in a pool of its own blood. Cade's shaking head answered her unspoken question. Normally, she would have been in shock, but men killing each other to defend the honor of a lady was common where she had come from. That and no one had really done that for her before. She sighed.

Tandi knew that they would have to explain the situation to Larue, as much as she despised everything that was going on around them. To top that off, the party seemed to have reached a rift. She couldn't help but to begin to blame herself.

She doesn't say anything as Cade rides of to check on Sykhia, deciding that anything more would make it worse. If they were going to save the girl from Orussus, they needed all the help they could get. Unless anyone says anything to her directly, Tandi remains silent until they leave the vicinity and are on their way to the next leg of their journey.

[sblock=RA]ooc: I'm confused. The party had a surprise round, and only two people could have stopped me? Or, only I had a surprise round and won initiative, but the messenger had a round to turn around? I imagine Scun would have helped the dying man before he died, but he hasn't had a chance to post--is it too late for that?

Anton is really fed up and exasperated--he probably would have shot the arrows. Into the guy's back, now maybe not, but he doesn't make idle threats. But he also didn't expect the messenger to die.[/sblock]

"Maybe, maybe not. I did not trust him not to lead us into a trap, for one. He was a horrible person, and I would not travel with him. Were he from my homeland, he would have not lived past the age of six."

"Your people treat ignorance harshly then," Cade says. as he begins to ride away.

OOC: Guess I'm waiting on Thurgan, if he's coming or not.

[SBLOCK=Jdvn1]Anton got a surprise round and used it to delay to see if the messenger would apologise before firing. In between came Tandi and Scun. Then the messenger turned his back and Anton shot him. At this point, Cade, Thurgan, and Rillian could go. Cade walked over, checked for signs of life, and tried to heal, but he failed[/SBLOCK]

Thurgan Hammer, Dwarven Crafter

"Why you runnin' up ta check on da girl, Cade?" Thurgan asked. "Ya just heard 'er say ever'thin' was fine. Frankly, we shoul' jus' get da goods from the lair and be on'er way. This is way too confusin' fer me."

" 'Outsiders shouldn't get involved in local politics . . . they lose no matter who wins' . . . or at least that's what I ev'r heard said," Thurgan added.

"She told me she didn't want to go with, and I believe she was planning on running after we left. So somethin' ain't right. Her life's more important than any treasure that dragon has, least ta me. If ya want ta go after it, go ahead. I need ta take care of what I think's right. Mayhaps I'll meet ya back at the cave with some supplies."

With that, he'll head off after the carriage unless someone makes an attempt to stop him or stay with him.
