Tandi listens as the sounds of battle begin to die down behind her. At the moment, the hobgoblins they chased off earlier seem to be waiting for something, and right now, Tandi was all that stood between them, the girl and Tandi's companions. In their current state, the hobgoblins would easily be able to overpower them, on the other hand if a deal could be made...

Tandi remembered one of her comapanions speaking to these hobgoblins earlier, now only if she could remember who it was. A'Jardin, that was it! He was busy trying to keep the other companions alive, so it would have to wait. Tandi kept a wary eye on the hobgoblins near her, but in a show of faith, knelt down to comfort the girl.

*Tandi kneels and tries to comfort the little girl, but she is crying and looking towards the dying render, sobbing "Doggie! Doggieee!!!"*

*Meanwhile, the hobgoblin who ordered the retreat calls out softly to the others in Goblin:*
[SBLOCK]
"Looks like they've taken care of the orcs. I see no reason to kill them, but we will wait until the wizard's spell and the rage have both flown from the barbarian first, lest the idiot decide to attack and kill more of us."
[/SBLOCK]

*The hobgoblin girl replies plaintively, in the same incomprehensiblee tongue.*
[SBLOCK]
"No. The big one killed my brother. And the runt started it. But the murderer has to die."
[/SBLOCK]

*The leader responds.*
[SBLOCK]
"I'm not risking my troops for that. You can challenge him to single-combat if you want--it should be close to an even fight what with him still fatigued and you being a weak female. Either way, I will require repayment of blood-debt for our fallen comrades in gold, not more blood--especially when bad luck could spell our defeat after that horrific gray thing."
[/SBLOCK]

(OOC:

Somac's turn.)

*Somac attacks the orc that assaulted him, splitting the unfortunate humanoid in half across the waist.*

*Dagummit slashes at the final orc, able to cut through its armour but only dealing a glancing blow, especially compared to Somac's mighty cleave.*

*Alton stays where he is, as Cade continues to bleed

*No change in Rillian's condition.*

*Anton worses and begins to grow pale.*

*Scun's unstaunched wounds begin to bleed in earnest.*

*A'jardin's hand shakes unsteadily, in part from his nervous nature and in part from his careful attempt to aim away from hitting his friend Dagummit instead of the orc, and at the last second he gives up, closes his eyes, and fires. Miraculously, the bolt manages to graze the orc, although it doesn't seem too perturbed.*

*The infuriated orc is unable to attack the sniping wizard without breaking with Dagummit, so he decides to get around this by breaking Dagummit instead. With a wicked slash, he splits open the dwarf's side and tosses him to the ground, getting ready to finish off the injured wizard as soon as he can.*

(OOC:
Somac deals 25 damage to the poor orc. Ouch!

Dagummit deals 4 damage--minimum :(

Cade at -8 now

Rillian still at -9

Anton at -4

Scun at -2

A'jardin's crossbow deals 2 damage. A hit!

Orc deals Dagummit 10 damage, bringing the dwarf to -4.

Tandi's turn again, then Somac, then A'jardin, then orc.)

"Jula!" Tandi cursed in her own tongue. Were there a need to sneak in somewhere, silently disable a guard, steal secrets from something, she would be the one to do it. Here, her companions lie dying on the field of battle and there wasn't much she could do to help them. If she tried, she would probably end up sending them to their rewards early. Tandi didn't want to be responsible for that. She saw some of them using wands, but she didn't know how those worked either. The hobgoblins near her seemed to be discussing something and their anger seemed to have diminished. She would have to trust that as much as she trusted the huge barbarian's ability at finishing the last orc. The only variable remaining was the girl. Her 'pet' was dying. If they revived it, it would probably attempt to tear them apart and the hobgoblins would probably get involved again. Tandi knew adventuring was hard, but this was ridiculous.

Making a probably foolish decision, she tells the girl to run to 'Doggie' while she makes her way to Scun. She hopes that searching the half-orc's equipment would procure a healing potion she could pour down his throat to revive him. She moves a little slower to make sure the hobgoblins don't make a move to take advantage of the situation.

(OOC: Probabilistically speaking, you have a 19% chance to stabilise still even if nobody helps you.)
OOC: Don't ever, ever, tell me the odds ;)

*The little girl flies out and runs over to the render, crying, and cuddles it as it bleeds.*

*Tandi dashes over to Scun, unable to check for any potions yet.*

(OOC:

Scun actually does have a potion--excellent idea! Wake him and he can wand.

Somac's turn now.)
