"No, I'm sorry. Before she died, when I was very little, I made a promise to my mother that I would never learn the treacherous and beguiling tongue of humankind and would strive to be a great warrior like my father...to set an example of what a woman can do."

Cade nods and says to Vrina in Goblin [sblock]"So be it. If you ever change your mind, my offer stands. Or any other language that will help you speak with us easier. I'll ask that we make sure that you share a watch with someone who can speak with you."[/sblock]

*Vrina replies in Goblin.*
[SBLOCK]
"It seems that you and the wizard know Goblin, the orc and he who holds my life at his pleasure know orc, and the wizard again knows Draconic. Those are the three languages I have learned to speak, the last of which is mostly used to deal with the filthy kobolds."
[/SBLOCK]

"Well lets decide. Are we gonna follow the hobgoblins to town? I say we should, there may be a chance to get another wand for Scun, and at this rate, he is gonna need it!"

It seems to still be alive. All I know about them is that they tend to become attached to people and try to protect them. Tandi, if we are going to go, we have to just go. You aren't going to be able to reason with the girl. If you think it is better to take her away from the render and try to place her with some family, then do it. Otherwise we need to wake the thing up and leave the girl with it. Keep in mind that this thing will probably be extremely angry when it wakes up if the girl is gone. I don't know how smart these things are or what their tracking ability is, but we are pretty easy to follow for one who knows how. I agree that we need to follow them and get whatever we can, out of necessity. We don't have enough money left to buy supplies, much less new magical items.

In goblin:
[sblock]Vrina, could you translate this into orc for Somac and Scun? Assuming she agrees, A'jardin continues. Stopping the hobgoblins from killing the thing was a mistake, I might not like Jiigral, but I think he is right about this thing, it's a menace. If we take the girl away from it, which the monk seems likely to decide on, then it's going to come after us when it wakes, so someone needs to double back and finish it off before that happens. I volunteer to do it, but I don't like the idea of being alone out here, there are lots of things that could finish me off right now. All I'm asking is for someone to come with me and watch my back when I do it. I'm excluding the monk from this because I don't think she'd understand the necessity of doing this. And uh, I don't know what languages Anton speaks, so I can't include him without making the monk suspicious. Also that's why I'm not saying her name, since hearing it over and over again in a discussion you can't understand is sure to make someone suspicious. I know many might think this is an evil thing to do, but the way I see it, it's survival. When we are a few minutes away from here, I'll say I lost some spell components and need to go back for them, and that the rest should either just wait there or go on and I'd catch up in a bit. If someone would volunteer at that point to go with me I'd appreciate it. And uh... A'jardin blushes ...not Vrina, because that'd look.... anyway, not Vrina.[/sblock]

"Not me because you do not trust me not to kill you, I suppose? I will not do so unless I am asked to do so by he who hold my life at his pleasure. Oh, and if Anton is the one in your group who actually shot the attacking render instead of my people, then he speaks the languages of Ogres and Dark Elves. I may not speak those languages myself, but I can recognise them easily enough. I don't know what that tells you about him, though, if anything."[/SBLOCK]
*Vrina then says the following in Orc to Somac and Scun.*
[SBLOCK]
"Your wizard friend sends greetings and wishes the following not to be heard by your monk friend because he doesn't want her to know of his murderous intentions. Thus, he has asked me to pass this message on to you. He said the following:

'Stopping the hobgoblins from killing the thing was a mistake, I might not like Jiigral, but I think he is right about this thing, it's a menace. If we take the girl away from it, which the monk seems likely to decide on, then it's going to come after us when it wakes, so someone needs to double back and finish it off before that happens. He then requested that his accomplice not be me, perhaps because he does not trust me. Have you understood his intentions or do you need me to ask him for a clarification?"
[/SBLOCK]

Scun nods and prepares to leave, gathering his spear and such, making sure all of his equipment is in order.

Anton's pain has subsided now, although he definitely does not feel 100%. The memory of the grey thing still worries him, though. "If that creature is tied to the girl, it will surely go on a rampage when it awakens if the girl is gone. Then, more blood will be on our hands. If we plan to giving the girl to someone that may take care of her, we should kill the sleeping creature."

(OOC: Heehee, how brutally ironic, eh azmodean?)
