Might I suggest a cantrip for Vrina to bring her above being staggered so she can double-move? I won't do it unless you agree, of course

Also, I assume you aren't healing the conscious party members who are at or around 4? (A'jardin for instance is at 1) due to the wording, but you can tell me I'm wrong if you like

"ugh, what happened? Is everyone ok? Did we save the girl?"

Cade takes a moment to get oriented, and hopefully someone fills him in.

"Well, it looks like you can't always judge a book by it's cover, though in that one hobgoblin's case, I'm still not sure. Sorry I let you guys down when it counted, but I'm glad to be around compainion's like you guys."

Cade makes his way over to Vrina and says in common and goblin if she doesn't follow him in common. "My name is Cade Jenner, and I'm sorry for yer loss las, and I know I had my part in it. I grew up in a village constantly raided by goblins and hobgoblins, and other than a few montain goblins I've met I've not met any other kind of hobgoblin other than the raidin' theivin' killin' kind. I did what I thought was right to save the little girl, and I'm sorry that it caused you yer loss."

 

[RillianPA]

"Gods, thank you Scun. Those orcs sure hit hard, not like those cowardly hobgoblins."

Rillian looks around -
"Hey, where is the gear from all those orcs and hobgoblins we killed?"

Once the situation is explained -
"And you guys BELIEVED them?! What town would hire a bunch of hobgoblins to protect them from a bunch of orcs? And even if they were telling the truth, based on what you guys are telling me, we deserve at least half of the bounty for the render and orcs. What crooks. Well, maybe the ranger can track them back to their lair."

ooc: Please, nobody needs to respond to any of this. I just needed to vent a little of what I stored up while Rillian was unconcious

(OOC: Incidentally, I have a player in one of my tabletop games who I know pretty well and know he is Lawful Evil in real life, and like a week ago, I told him about the situation, and he said he would have "Nodded politely to the hobgoblins and given them whatever they asked, then woken up the ranger, had him track them down, and murdered them all in their sleep. Then take all the loot.")

Scun will toss out one cantrip to Vrina and the others to anyone who is conscious but less than 4 hp. (no more charges from wand at this time but willing to use up all 3 cantrips)

Cade replies in goblin [sblock]"My shallow lies? I appologize as one of the first things I do after nearly dyin and you call me a liar? Would I be less evil if I saw the child and simply said 'She's an orphan, so she's not worth saving'? Is apathy good in your mind las? I've spent most of my life living in fear of goblin and hobgoblin attacks, and fighting to defend my viliage when I was able. And now, I seek to recover an object to save the life of a sick girl, reward or no.

Now don't be a fool. You know there are few truely inocent people in the world, and certantly no one with anyone elses blood on their hands, even in a just cause. I have far too much blood on my hands, but I make my sacrifice so that others may get a chance to live and not have to do what I do. If believing me a murderer is what helps you sleep at night, then fine, but don't be fooled into thinking that life is the black and white picture you make it out to be. And if you still want to duel with me, you'll have to wait till my life is my own. Right now, it belongs to a sick little girl in Orussis, and I don't intend on failing her."[/sblock]

Cade shakes his head disapointedly and begins to check over Alton to make sure he's alright. Perhaps the little girl will need to ride him till we can find her a place to stay.

Tandi's mind begins to whirl. Adventuring was about ridding the world of vile monsters and saving those who couldn't be saved, her aunt said. But deciding what to do with a little girl whose only caretaker is a beast that would just as soon tear someone to shreds as look at them, that was a different matter all together. Though she had never seen them before, this 'gray render', seemed to bond with one person. From the looks of it, anyone that was a friend to that person, it would leave alone.

"Scun, I would rather not have to worry about putting this beast down either, but unless you want to explain to her why this beast has to die instead of have a little help from you, I suggest sparing some of your healing for it. Or point me to someone who will. This thing is all she's got." Tandi then goes on to explain what she has corrolated from the evidence.

"I make it out to be black and white? You're the one who inspired the murder of my brother just because he was a hobgoblin...Why did you charge in racial hatred before talking, instead of talking before charging? Maybe some day, I will understand this line of thought, but right now, it seems like evil to me."
