*Rillian looks closely at Laynie, trying to figure out what is wrong with her, until eventually, he finds the answer. She is very small and delicate, which had led the group to mistake her for a four-year-old when closer inspection of her features and bodily maturity yields an estimate more indicative of a six-year-old, which makes all the difference. She's still pretty smart for a six-year-old, but it is a level of comprehension that the brightest six-year-olds display; she'll probably be a very smart girl when she grows up. Rillian's best guess as to why her use of language took a little while to warm up to its current level is that it must have gotten rusty during the time it was unpractised with the render.*

ooc: Rillian doesnt want to interrupt A'jardin, I had assumed the 15 mins was finished. Rillian will ask the question when A'jardin finishes.

*Laynie seems sceptical and turns to Scun, which is not an easy task as the half-orc has tried quite hard to avoid her.*

"You...you killed him, didn't you? Tell me the truth..."

Scun gives extra effort to not sounding so gruff as usual, and kneels down to speak with Laynie.

"You are very smart to pick up on the G-O-D / D-O-G thing, young lady. Mongrel is often known for wandering the lands as a stray dog. I'm sure that your doggie is in a better place now, with lots of doggie things to do. It is time for us to travel to the town now, where there are nice people who will care for you."

"You...you didn't answer me...does that mean yes?"

Scun sighs and stands up, and starts walking toward the town.

"I did what I could to ease doggie's pain."

"So he did," Laynie says to herself quietly as Scun walks away, "I knew it..."

*Then she screams a wordless scream of anguish, and collapses to the ground sobbing again inconsolably.*

*Eventually, A'jardin finishes memorising his new cantrip.*

When Rillian asks A'jardin about casting Detect Magic on the girl, he appears a bit sheepish. I only have the strength for one more cantrip today, and I just finished preparing an acid ball spell. I should have thought of using detect magic, but I get a bit paranoid when I don't have any way left to protect myself. I can check on it tomorrow morning though.

Looking around after replying to Rillian, he sees the render. Oh, someone finished it off. Well it had to be done, I was planning on it myself. Though I hate to agree with that slime Jiigral, he was right about the render, it was too dangerous to allow to live. A'jardin's shoulders slump for a bit, but then he takes a deep breath and continues. Now that the situation is finally settled, let us be off, we need to collect our due for killing the orcs, drop this child off somewhere that can take care of her, and be on our way. I wonder if our patron's daughter would like a sister.... None of my buisness anyway.

(OOC: If nobody has any objections, we can proceed to the travel west to Briarton...although there may be something I have to deal with first.)
