"Well it sounds as though we should prepare for desert travel. Anyone know anything about that? I was thinking about purchasing a mount, maybe special clothing?"

Quietly, aside to Scun "Scun, how much do you have left from our last adventure? I'd be willing to lend you money to help you buy a magical storage device." (like a bag of holding or hewards haversack).

"Oh Somac, what kind of weapon do you need? I have a spare short sword, if that would help?"

A desert you say? I'll definitely need a pack animal to carry water then. Any idea how far the journey across the desert will take?

"I know that it should be in the desert somewhere, but other than that, I just know the direction thanks to the compass ring. It could be just after you reach the desert, or it could be a few hundred miles through the desert. You will certainly know if you pass it, however, when the ring starts pointing in the opposite direction."

Quietly to Rillian:
[sblock]"I've got more than a thousand gold left. Want to go halfs on a Haversack? We can adventure together"[/sblock]

(OOC: Hmm...let's just call it a Handy Haversack, or even better we could come up with a cooler name for the item of our own. The name 'Heward's' in front of it is probably protected content.)

OOC: Do you want to roleplay these purchases, or can I just assume Somac is able to buy them before the group sets off?
OOC: I believe if it's a purchase of anything not special (magical, or special material) you can just buy it. Don't even have to get approval. That includes masterwork items. Magic items are a different story, you're better off asking in the general thread or e-mailing the approvers.

IC:

Cade agrees "Aye, we should prepare fer desert travel then. Prolly need ta load up on water 'n such. If someone wouldn't mind letten me borrow space on a pack anamial, I'd 'preciate it. Don't want to load Alton down too much. Might not be a bad idea to shave the poor guy too, though I don't know much bout dogs in tha desert."

Cade checks his money pouch and winces "It don't look like I got much in funds ta contribute. Maybe a few waterskins er rations, but not much else."

OOC: The SRD version is simply the Handy Haversack. Just like it's "Acid Arrow"

The desert being her home most of her life, Tandi knew more about the desert than half of these people ever would. When Zarindas mentioned the Tower of Fire, a chill ran down her spine. It was the very home of the efreeti that had attacked her people all those centuries ago.

Unfortunately, Tandi did not want to have to explain herself as to why she didn't want to stray too close to the other side of the desert, the Tower of Air. Therefore, she decided that it would be best to keep her outh closed on the subject, except for a few pieces here and there when necessary.

"It is probably best to travel at night through the desert, to avoid the hot sun, but if you insist on travelling during the day, wear light clothing that covers your body." Realizing that without explaining herself, she would be questioned, she added, "I heard that somewhere."
