Anton's Knowledge Nature and Survival:

Tandi's advice seems sound--travel light but bring plenty of water. Wear clothing that is as light as possible while covering the body from the harsh sun. Camels as pack animals are a good choice, though probably a bit rare here in Orussus.

Anton thinks for a bit and then says what is on his mind, "Once we get closer, we may consider looking for camels. Before the desert, travel will likely be much easier, and we may hunt for food, even. At least, I can hunt for food."

Tandi watches as the rather large group of adventurers readies themselves for the journey into the desert. Her own food and water was stuffed into her backpack already, and she knows that it will be some time before they actually reached the desert. There were plenty of small hamlets and thorps along the way that could provide them with food and shelter until they reached the open desert. As the experienced adventurer Somac spoke, Tandi took special care to listen. She was by no means inexperienced, but it was clear he had been adventuring on his own for some time.

"Well, Somac, perhaps that will be true and we will all be good friends when we return. I suppose it would be beneficial for us to learn from each other as well."

Tandi then went back to make sure she had everything. As far as she was concerned, she was ready to go.

Oops, just noticed that last post said "thinks" instead of "says".
Oh, um. Well, I mean 'thinks out loud' -- I'll make it more clear.

ooc: is there some sort of "desert clothing" that we can buy at a certain price? How should we account for our characters being prepared for the journey?

Ogrin, who had joined the others but quickly fallen asleep in a corner, wakes up. "Uh, what did I miss? What did I miss?"

After receiving a quick briefing, Ogrin decides against going. "Demons, ey? I've had enough with the infernal for a long time ahead. I wish you luck on your endeavour, master Zarindas, but I won't be joining you."

Ogrin turns to Rillian and Scun before leaving. "Well, lads - stay safe! I'll look for another opportunity. Who knows, our paths may cross some other time in the future!"

OOC: Also, you seem to have more than enough martial prowess in the party.

(OOC: I don't know much about Orussus, but I would guess they would not have any really specific desert-gear here. Perhaps if you plotted a course for a town on the edge of the desert, you could buy camels and other desert gear there?)

"I can help hunt for food and water also, so perhaps between the two of us, we can help delay the need to dip into our provisions for some time."

"Let's go our separate ways to make our preparations tonight. We can then meet in the morning and depart."

OOC: Does anyone object to pitching in for the horses, cart, and food and water? If not, maybe Rystil can tell us how much that is, including the water, and everybody can subtract the appropriate amount from their character sheets.

"I can give all the money I have towards our supplies, but it ain't much. I don't have 20 gold to my name at the moment." Cade says.

OOC: Is there anything I think I can do to help Alton deal with the heat? Desert and St Bernard don't sound like they mix well.
