"I can give all the money I have towards our supplies, but it ain't much. I don't have 20 gold to my name at the moment." Cade says.

OOC: Somac has 443 gp left from his last adventure, and will gladly pick up the difference for anybody who can't put in their full share.

"I can help hunt for food and water also, so perhaps between the two of us, we can help delay the need to dip into our provisions for some time."

"Let's go our separate ways to make our preparations tonight. We can then meet in the morning and depart."

OOC: Does anyone object to pitching in for the horses, cart, and food and water? If not, maybe Rystil can tell us how much that is, including the water, and everybody can subtract the appropriate amount from their character sheets.

(OOC: How many horses and how many days of food. I'll fo the math for you :))

(OOC: I don't know much about Orussus, but I would guess they would not have any really specific desert-gear here. Perhaps if you plotted a course for a town on the edge of the desert, you could buy camels and other desert gear there?)
(Orussus is more or less a hub for adventurers in the center of the world. On the other hand, it is a port city in a temperate climate. So desert gear might be available. Camels are more unlikely. Maybe at double (gear), or quadruple (camels) price. Your call.)

OOC: I think two heavy horses and a wagon, and 3-1/2 months of food & water, if nobody objects. Let's get these PCs on the road! :D

(OOC: 960 Gold buys 2 Heavy Horses, Feed for the two horses for 3.5 months, Rations for 8 people for 3.5 months, and a Wagon)

Tandi shakes her head. These guys will be lost without me. "I can throw in 5 gold crowns, as that is all I have to my name. However, it is probably best if we wait until we get to one of the border villages before purchasing wrappings that will help you in the dunes. My clothing will suffice, but for you... She mostly looks at the ones wearing the heavy traveling outfits, "I'm sure a few sarongs and abdis would do just fine."

OOC: I know it's not Core, but Sandstorm has desert clothing... 6gp and 3 lbs... Gives you a heat resistance level of one, which will help...

(OOC: I plan on adding some Sandstorm if I can can sneak it in without angering anyone, so I will be allowing desert equipment if possible--it just makes sense that it exists :))

ooc: I think our employer needs to front us some money for costs, to be realistic. We're supposed to take some epic desert trek just on promise of up to a certain amount with no minimum amount mentioned for success? Ideally the guy would just buy us a type 1 bag of holding and we could do without a wagon or the horses completely and just carry food and survival supplies in the bag. Then at the end, the bag could be considered part of the reward, or returned to the guy.

(OOC: It probably seems more expensive than it is because it is such a large amount of food (840 person-days) being bought at once. You could try to forage to reduce this, or even break up purchases to carryable quantities, restocked every once in a while for the first leg and then buy camels at the desert. There are plenty of options available :))

OOC: (I never did get an answer as to what to do with Alton. I'd hope he can come along, and if there's something I can do to help him deal with the heat, it'd be nice to know. I have Handle Animal, so that might help me know)
