*Things do seem to be taking a long time in that town hall. A very long time. If any of the PCs leave their position and head into the town to talk to the villagers, they pass by an old lady with a big crooked nose who won't be bothered to listen to them, and then a friendly-looking pretty young woman comes up to talk to them, with a smile on her face.*
"Wow! Are you an adventurer?"
(OOC: Let me know who, if anyone, went to talk.)

Tandi, deciding that those hobgoblins were taking too long, decided to go ask someone to see what was going on. As she walked into the town, she noticed that she got more than a few stares. An older woman was sweeping her porch when Tandi approached.
"Pardon me, madam. I would like to..." The old woman turned her back and walked inside her home. In another place Tandi would have her berated, but she remembered her place here. Sighing, she continued.
Another woman approached her, this one seemingly excited. Her hopes higher, Tandi smiled at her.
Tandi hadn't actually been asked that before, and since she left with her Aunt's blessing, to strike out on her own, she hadn't heard the term since.
"Yes, yes I am. My name is Tandi, Tandi d'Lune. It is a pleasure to meet you." Tandi bows her traditional bow and then asks, "What is your name?"

"Wow! That's so amazing! My name is Lena. Pleasure to meet you, Tandi! You should come to see Mayor Lucas--he always has a big feast when adventurers come and offers them free lodging if they are willing to share their stories of adventure and excitement! We all need a good tale or two to take our minds off the terrible orc raid and the fire..."

Tandi thinks for a moment after allowing Cade to introduce himself.
"What my friend means to say is that we would love to, but we'll have to discuss it with our party first." Looking over at Cade, she leans down to whisper in his ear.
"I don't think we should go rushing in without the backup of our party. Especially with the hobgoblins hanging around. I especially don't think we should let everyone know why we are here." When she finishes, Tandi smiles and winks at him.
Looking back to Lena, she again smiles. "I was just discussing our plans for the evening with Cade here. Lena, we graciously accept your offer and will join you as we are able. May I ask however, do you know the business of the hobgoblins party that has come in to town? Are they also partaking of the mayor's feast?"

"I dunno," Lena replies, "They came in and demanded to talk to Mayor Lucas. Anyway, why don't you and your friends all come in and go to the waiting room in the town hall? I'll get you all some refreshments, if you like, and then you can talk to the mayor right after the hobgoblins are done. How's that sound?" then she points up towards the rest fo the party and whispers, "But is that one up there an orc? Could he, like, wear a cloak or something? The children are still afraid ever since the orcs raided and burned down half the village, carrying off women and booty..."

Anger twisting his features, Rillian curses under his breath. Quietly to his friends "Those damnable hobgoblins didnt tell us the orcs took women. We might have had a chance to backtrack the orcs and find the women, if they had told us. It probably also means there are far more orcs than we fought, and that was just a raiding party. I suggest we head into the town hall, and find out what other half truths and lies the hobgoblins are telling."

(OOC: Who's down in the town with Lena and who is still up and off to the side (there is a tiny little hill on the side from which the PCs approached) I had known that Tandi was originally and Cade came, and now Rillian is there...is everyone down there--particularly, what about Scun?)
