Adventure: Just Before Nightfall (DM:johnmeier1, Judge:Ozymandias79)

Shorrin swings half-heartedly at the fleeing dragonborn. "Surrender to us, or your deaths will be painful indeed. I will give you your life. On my word." Shorrin says as he sprints off behind the runner.

If dragonborn is still alive[/sblock]

With the mage beyond his grasp, Murphy looks at the closest enemy still standing and looks the armoured dragonborn up and down. Dropping the large sword at his feet, Murphy quickly draws a dagger from his belt and throws the smaller blade at the foe. It strikes unerringly into the foe, driving the blade up to the hilt.

After the throw the assassin quickly bends over and retrieves his enchanted bastard sword.

[sblock=KenHood] Tonk was not adjacent to the dragonborn, because Shorrin used Tide of Iron to push him away last turn.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC] Only the dwarf is alive, but unconscious. Time for a short rest? Feel free to RP while I get the rewards together[/sblock]

Tonk strips the dwarf of all weapons and armor, then hefts her over his shoulder. He trusses her in rope--ankle-to-ankle, knee-to-knee, hands behind back with palms facing outwards, thumbs and pinkies bound, elbow-to-elbow, and a final wrap around the throat, causing her to choke if she struggles too much. Then, he hangs her upside down from a stout tree branch and prods her awake.

"Hey! You is naughty person! Why for you attack? No is nice! Me is only want for to be friend, but you is all 'I get pretty half-orc boy!' Why? I think maybe you need maybe think about be good, not bad!"

While Tonk goes to work stripping down the dwarf, Murphy calmly walks to the fallen dragonborn and retrieves his dagger, wiping it on the elf's clothing and returns it to the sheath on his belt. He shivers involuntarily as the power he drew from the halfling leaves him, but puts on his typical smiling face as he looks to the others.

He walks over to Shorrin and pats the big dragonborn on the shoulder, "Well done, as always" before nodding to Larinza and then moving to Janus.

"Your spells have become even more effective my friend, I'm glad to be with you on your arcane journey. Maybe while the half-orc is speaking to the dwarf, we can check to see if any of these fellows has anything we can use?" the man asks Janus

Hausk eventually comes around, her face beet red from hanging upside down. She seems stoic in the face of the half-orc's questions.

[sblock=KenHood] Perhaps an intimidate, or is this an odd form of diplomacy? :) [/sblock]

Janus and Murphy move among the other bodies. Oddly there is only simple equipment, no money, and simple traveling gear.

[sblock=Janus] You notice a magical aura on the traveling bag of the wizard, Zheis. It is a bag of holding![/sblock]

Janus starts to search the fallen mage taking anything of worth and magical, he starts to mutter, "Its not here, its not here. But of course, it won't be this easy. Must continue to search." He tilts his head to the side as if listening. "Yes, yes the vampire spawns master."

[sblock=ooc]
Ok I will take the bag and anything else of use.

Didn't he shoot us with a wand?

[/sblock]

As the Dragonborn falls the calm silence that follows a battle settles over the group for a moment before they all begin looting the the fallen and securing the captive.

Dextyr pokes at the remains of the vampire spawn a couple of time with his sword. Hmm, interesting... he thinks to himself.

He makes his way over to their campsite and begins looking around for anything useful.

After his search he seats himself down and pulls out his lute and begins playing a relaxing and peaceful tune.
"We may as well take advantage of this perfectly good campsite friends. Let us rest a moment before we push on."

He strums a few more notes and then continues.
"Also, I don't know too much about undead and the like, but if what we just fought were vampire spawn, then wouldn't that mean that Hausk's benefactor is either a vampire himself or has a vampire working for him?"

1d20+2 (Perception check)=15

Lets take a short rest. Anyone useing a healing surge while Dextyr performs his song of rest gets an additional 4 hit points with each surge.

Ken, let me know if you want Dextyr to play good cop while Tonk plays bad cop. Perhaps with an intimidate / diplomacy combo we can get her to talk.
[/sblock]

As they are sitting, Murphy looks at Dextyr, his head cocked. "You say vampires, or spawns of vampires? What manner of creature is this that creates spawns of itself?" the assassin asks.

[sblock=ooc]
Murphy probably knows very little if anything about them (+1 in Religion at level 4 will do that to ya)[/sblock]
