Adventure:Land Ho! FWBTHW (DM:H.M.Gimlord,Judge:Ozymandias79)

Talon blinks in surprise and falls to the deck retching after the transport through the portal. Dayna whines beside him as the shifter finally pulls himself to his feet, only to stagger as if drunk. He looks up into the bright daylight of the sky and grabs his head with both hands as though it was going to fall off.

"Why does this feel backwards!?" he demands of Fargo. "Are we going to fall into sky?" Talon asks almost to himself as Dayna cocks her head to look at him in a questioning manner. "Don't you feel it?" he turns to ask the others. "We are on bottom of world! Gah! It's all backwards! Summer, not winter! Day, not night!" Talon rambles on, but settles down soon. He finds a quiet corner to sit in while he tries to get used to the new feeling of the world around him.[Sblock=OOC] Nature check (1d20+9=27) Talon was really in tune with Nature for this one, so he felt the shift rather more than the others it seems.

XP is almost enough to get Talon to 3rd level. Next fight will for sure. Of course we probably won't have an extended rest then. :erm:[/sblock]Later on, Talon accepts and thanks Fargo for the gold. He spends his time over the remaining days of sailing playing with and training Dayna along with practicing attacks with his magical longspear. He invites the others to spar with him on the deck of the Gail to pass the time.

[sblock=HMG/Ozy]Checking to see if it would upset things if I petitioned to use 2 of my remaining 6 DM credits to level Talon up to 3rd level now while we are at a place where there is time in story for such a change to happen easier.

If the higher level would mess stuff up for HMG's adventure planning, then feel free to say no. I just wanted to ask since Talon is only 181 XP away. Spending the 2 DM credits would gain him 208 XP and 178 time gp. Not sure where the extra gold could come from IC. That's kind of alot to rack up from a few days of gambling with the crew. Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there for consideration. Wasn't sure when the next opportunity to level up in the adventure might be and I'd hate to skip 3rd level right to 4th.[/sblock]

"Be delighted maytee!" A broad-shouldered, sun-baked dwarf finishes tying down a rigging line and makes his way over to the shifter, massaging the rope burn from his huge, calloused hands so as to prepare them for the grip on the massive hammer he carries on his back, "Name's Ironhand Slumberstone, an' ye be?" He extends one of these meathooks to Talon. The other's on the deck politely clear the area.[sblock=Stats]OK, you asked for it...

[/sblock][sblock=Map]This is just going to be a hack and slash. No terrain effects. the map is fairly simple. The crowd makes the boundaries of the area, and anyone attempting to leave is forced back into the 'arena' area and teased, being called a coward.

There are only one or two of my attacks that rely on having her there.[/sblock]Talon steps forward to shake hands with the dwarf before backing up a step to begin the sparring. Twirling his longspear over his head, Talon nods and favors the dwarf with a feral grin. Shifting away from the dwarf towards one edge of the crowd, Talon jabs out hard with his weapon and lands a serious blow on the dwarf.

The dwarf flinches for a minute, surprised at the shifter's prowess with a spear, but his expression turns to a smile of respect as he sets himself to land his own blows, "Don' worri'laddie. Ole Ironhan' won' disappoint ye."

With surprising resilience, Ironhand surges forward and lands a hammer blow square in Talon's chest, knocking the shifter back into the crowd.

Booing and hissing, the encircling dwarves shove Talon back into the ring, "Giet back in thar an' fight like a man!"

When Talon frees himself form the pressing crowd, he deftly slides past Ironhand toward the center of the floor.

Ironhand takes a deep breath and laughs, "Hoho! What's wrong bye? Already wantin' tah ron home tah mum!?"

Though Ironhand is laughing at Talon, the shifter is quic to notice that the dwarf is not overly eager to get too close himself.[sblock=Actions]Standard: Pressing Strike

Sorry about being so slow, but as long as we are onboard the ship, feel free to NPC Rujah feeling weak and nauseous the entire time. Rujah is similar to the man Hercules fought who rivaled him in strength... Rujah draws his strength from the earth most primarily. On a ship he doesn't feel well.[/sblock]
